I should buy a money order just now and my car came back as "insufficient funds". I then drove down the street to another store and try to do another transaction and it too was declined. I check my MVD account and it still says active with more than enough balance left on the card. I purchased money orders the other day with no problem. I'm not going to call but I fear that the 3 figure debit limit that someone mentioned a little while ago might have been placed on my card.
I haven't tested the credit or CA feature on this card yet… Sigh, I hate the waiting game... |

Did you load MVD using a debit card (gift card with pin) from walmart? I checked MVD website and they only have 2 ways to load the card, VR and direct deposit.
I run out 5K BB limit within the first week of the month and this could be interesting. |

Yes, and it costs a little more than $2 (can't remember the exact amount) per load.

Same here. Got approval error code 51 at walmart today for a $2k purchase. Card is sufficiently funded, (and code 51 is for insufficient funds.)

Did you try again or were you able to figure out why is/was this rejected?

I've decided to just unload my MVD with GW and close the account. I feel like the changes they made to their debit processing might be permanent and not worth the hassle. I'll pick it back up if/when it becomes more viable relative to other options.

Okay, tried the MVD today while making MOs and it worked but only for $300+
I will later for higher amounts.... Well see if Im throttled to 3 digits or if I can sneak a 4 digit debit in there once a week or so. |
I've read 10 pages of the thread, but it's still not clear to me what others might speculate a relatively safe monthly load amount might be. My plan was just load and unload at ATMs. I need to hit some very high spend over the next month and a half or so, but I have no need for the card after that.
If I load 5K and then withdraw it from the ATM a week later, will that shut me down on the first try? Second? |

My .02 if you only do atm, they might not shut you since you will be throwing money at them. atm will turn out to be expensive, go alternate route.

There is no safe amount. Only spend whatever you're comfortable with being without for an extended period of time in case an issue arises.
I currently have $2K in limbo where Incomm is pointing fingers at CVS saying they made them withdraw the amount from my account. CVS is pointing their finger at Incomm and saying "we don't know what you/they are talking about, go away"

My point is don't tell people they will be safe. There is no such guarantee. |
