Flew LHR to AMS last night. Was offered an upgrade for 57GBP at OLCI but decided to decline it this time.

There is also no way to request a veggie "meal" in short-haul C with KLM. You may be in luck if they have the cheese sandwich and haven't run out by the time they get to you.

Not sure how other carriers do - it's apparently possible with SAS (given enough notice), not sure about BA.

After the last cheese sandwich they served me, I no longer think "luck" is the right word.

Having said that, the solution is simply to have a quick word with the purser before take-off. Tell her or him that you are a vegetarian, and they will make sure you get a cheese sandwich.

Was offered 280EUR for AMS-JFK initially - went to look on my computer and selected US as my origin in the splash screen, and was offered $345 USD per seat (which was less than the EUR to USD conversion by about $20 based on my back of napkin math), which I did take for two seats. Sat in row 77 in the upper deck of the combi - not the greatest J flight ever, but decent soft product and worth the upgrade price to me.

As an aside, does anyone know if this will post as 150% MQM/mileage to DL?

CPH-AMS €159.--

Compares favorably to the outrageous €280.-- they sold the JFK-AMS upgrades for to Smachiz.

LIS-AMS - offer €159 - loadfactor around 20%, 2 pax in C/CL
AMS-BRU - offer €159 (huge lol) - loadfactor around 30%
BRU-AMS - no offer
AMS-LIS - offer €159 - loadfactor around 90%

I didn't take any, obviously.

How surprising!

I should really like to know if anybody ever buys an upgrade at that price.

€159 is plainly ridiculous, but there must be the occasional taker, or why else would they continue to offer these upgrades?

Yes there are takers but surely revenue would be a lot higher if they were more reasonable. I read in the M&M forum that a guy had paid €2k for the SEN renewal, there are always some takers!

Amuse: Barley and Reypenaer cheese salad with a cream of garden peas and MSC certified fillet of trout.

Meal salad: Indonesian ketoprak salad served with Thai chicken with the Better Life Hallmark and banana crisps.

Desert by Patisserie Van Wely: Orange praline desert.

Bottle of Cava.
Very nice, actually, but not really worth £62 without the C-class (status) miles.

PS: Just curious: does the "Better Life" hallmark pertain to the chicken or those who eat it?
PPS: I thought "MSC Certified" was something for technicians who repair PCs - darn clever trout, that!
This is exactly the same menu I had at the beginning of January on VIE-AMS. The only difference was two bottles of Cava

AMS-CPH. EB reduced to the absolute minimum of two rows, and they are trying to flog the remaining 7 seats at €159.-- Good luck with that!

My recent experience:

HEL-AMS: EUR 119 (didn't take, upgraded anyway)
AMS-DEL: EUR 288 (took it, got 125% miles after contacting KLM via facebook)
VCE-AMS: EUR 70 (didn't take, didn't get upgraded)
