Recent discussion (After January 01, 2016) could be found in this thread.

Most important points to consider for a valid BRG:

1. The comparison website MUST bill in the same currency as the hotel .

2. The cancellation terms must be equal or better, than the terms by the hotels.

3. The Website needs to provide INSTANT confirmation.

4. The room names should match, but if you can demonstrate, that the room is comparable, it will also work with discrepancies in the name.

5. The price difference has to be more than either USD 1 or 1% (whichever is higher).
5.b In regards to hotels located in australia and New Zealand the price difference must be greater than 3% .

Hotels for which you will get reimbursed:
(Note: There have been significant problems with getting full reimbursements from IHG, especially for reimbursements in other currencies than USD)

IC Istanbul ( BRG claim from the 17.05.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")

IC Frankfurt ( BRG claim from the 20.08.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")

Too bad they make up the rules, and the terms are very much in their favor.

Even if the rules aren't on their side they just say they are and you can't do anything against that

and of course certainly better than scrapping brg completely.

Actually, they don't make up rules. They will only deny base on something that is clearly stated in the terms and conditions.

People say that IHG is cheating them when they deny a claim because currency is different, IHG.com has a better cancellation policy, price difference, etc. etc. ... but really this is all in the rules of the game.

Mostly yes, but they still write "household" in their rules, but they don't mean household, they mean people who are traveling together. So if you go with your best friend you also count as household in their eyes.

Does anyone have any experience with a site sells hotel rooms that click? I want to try for a BRG for a US hotel but they're all non-ref now and really don't want to be stuck paying for a room if the BRG doesn't stick?

Please advise.

Does anyone have any definite knowledge of whether Amoma.com is acceptable as a comparable OTA?

I'm looking for a hotel that charges in Euros, so the currency shouldn't be an issue as I believe Amoma does too.

The hotel I'm looking at has an across the board price of about 115 Euros from nearly all OTAs, except for Amoma at about 85.

Thanks for any help.

In my IHG BRG experience with Amoma it's hard to exactly match the cancellation policies (date/time) of IHG. So make sure to have that match, otherwise IHG will definitely deny your claim. Please let us know what your experiences with using Amoma are!

Just a question: If a BRG for a room with breakfast is approved, will I get the breakfast free as well?
