Recent discussion (After January 01, 2016) could be found in this thread.

Most important points to consider for a valid BRG:

1. The comparison website MUST bill in the same currency as the hotel .

2. The cancellation terms must be equal or better, than the terms by the hotels.

3. The Website needs to provide INSTANT confirmation.

4. The room names should match, but if you can demonstrate, that the room is comparable, it will also work with discrepancies in the name.

5. The price difference has to be more than either USD 1 or 1% (whichever is higher).
5.b In regards to hotels located in australia and New Zealand the price difference must be greater than 3% .

Hotels for which you will get reimbursed:
(Note: There have been significant problems with getting full reimbursements from IHG, especially for reimbursements in other currencies than USD)

IC Istanbul ( BRG claim from the 17.05.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")

IC Frankfurt ( BRG claim from the 20.08.2013/ "Technical Difficulties")

Only once have they adjusted my rate, out of about 5 stays.

Does anybody know if the IC Westminster comps your room or is it know for reimbursement?

It'll be that it's been adjusted to a comp. Check the mobile website on your phone, it'll show up there

Does this happen a lot after the rate has been adjusted?
USusally a good sign your rate has been adjusted.

Thanks for the replies. The hotel computers did have my room as a comp night even though the regular ihg and mobile ihg websites still had it at regular price.

Worked like a charm, thanks!

I have a $400+ room that wasn't comped and I'm hesitant to pay upfront for the room. Has anyone ever had any difficulties getting the check after the stay? TIA

one or 2 may have had problems with getting the reimbursement late, but you should get it back. I had no problem with my reimbursement.

hotels billed in Euros

I have a getaroom Euros rate rejected because "Getaroom may have an option to show rates in EUR but that is only a reference for international guests and credit card charges will still be in USD." So other than olotels which doesn't have the hotel I want, what other websites qualify as booking in Euros? I tried a search on this thread but did not find a list anywhere. Thanks much.

Hint: European sites (all those with .fr, .de - such as expedia.fr, lastminute.de etc) are very likely to bill in Euros . For others you might have to look through their terms and conditions or even give them a call....

It is in no ones interest to create an online list.

If a list published those OTA sites on ilist would generate so many simultaneous/frequent claims, then either IHG corporate or the individual hotel would have no make those OTAs not charge less or no longer allow listed OTAs to sell their rooms.

Well there are several lists, but they aren't for public, just shared in small groups.

If anyone could find a possible claim in Moscow or St Petersburg (mid-June), I'm willing to trade my websites which work for European hotels with you...Thanks.

Amoma.com

Hi,

Did anyone had a successful BRG claim using Amoma?

I know the site charges in EUR, and earlier in this thread someone mentioned his claim was denied based on that fact, but did anyone had any success with European hotels?

I'm not sure but it seems Amoma issues a voucher for the night - and I think that might be another reason for IHG to deny claims. Any experience?

Thanks!

I booked 3 days stay IC from ihg website. Now I found they lower the price in their own website. I have two questions:
1, can I request BRG to get first night free? I am not sure since the BRG should be competitive website, not their own website.
2, I am trying to accomplish the big win, which require 6 nights. Does this free night count as a night? If not, I am still a night away and no time to get another night.
Thanks.

1. Try to check out the other 3rd party websites, their rates should have decreased by now...

2. For your paid 2 nights, yes...For your 1st free night, maybe yes or no...
