Hello Flyertalkers!

In response to the issue reported by Coathanger and m0hamed, our mobile team has identified and fixed the problem that is causing the Hyatt app to display blank text on the home page. The latest app version introduced an issue where the app does not handle some cases correctly when the device is not set to one of Hyatts supported languages. This scenario includes when the device is set to variations of English, such as English (UK).

A fix is being submitted to the App Store, however, this is subject to Apple approval, and generally takes 1-2 weeks. In the interim, you may bypass this issue by setting your device to English or, you may always book/view reservations using our mobile website.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention.

Great job. Now if they could only fix the afternoon (KST) error problems that occur and make the site unusable during the daytime on our time.

To: Whoever runs the Hyatt IT Department please take note. This is how you do a network outage instead of just always taking your network down with no advance notice and no timeframe for when it will be up again.
Guess you never thought of this, well now you know!

From Flyertalk...announced days in advance..at the top of the page for everyone to see.

Notices
OUTAGE ALERT: FlyerTalk will be down for maintenance for up to 15 minutes beginning at 9am PT on Thursday July 9. Please plan your site use accordingly, and thank you for your understanding.

Not sure if anyone else encountered this. My wife received two options for the latest summer promo. One for 10 nights 20k points and another for 20 nights 50k. I am 100% certain that I registered her for the 20 nights promo back in June but received an email today reminding her to stay 10 nights for 20k points. A subsequent call to Hyatt confirmed that she somehow was registered for the 10 nights promo. Could this be an IT glitch? Again, I was the one that registered her and am 100% sure that I choose the 20 nights option.

Today's glitch: I was booking a room, and selected the rate for the third tab from the left. I selected the room type, and it defaulted back to the rate that was the first tab from the left. I am glad I noticed that, as the rate I ended up with was higher than the one I wanted.

I booked via telephone and showed the telephone agent the problem -- he had the same issue. This is probably something to watch when given the choice of multiple rate types.

And Flyertalk's maintenance came and went without me even noticing! Good job to their IT team.

Is anyone else missing some data in "Account Details"? The screen shows no activity at all between June 11 and June 24, inclusive, yet in fact I was on the road (and staying at Hyatts) almost constantly during that time. Is some of your history also absent?

Edited to add: temporary phenomenon ... all is well in Points-Land.

big problem for me

Help! For a number of days I've been having an issue with choosing a hotel on Hyatt.com. I search FLL, for example, and I get a number of hotels to pick from. But when I click on the "Select" button nothing happens. Same when I click on "map" or "Hotel features...". My pointer does turn into a hand, like it should, but nothing happens. But when I click on "View photos" they do appear. None of the other clickable links work though. This happens in Firefox and Chrome. But, it doesn't happen with any other hotel or airline sites.

I just tested Fort Lauderdale and everything came up and was "clickable". You can't put in just an airport code like FLL, however.

Thanks for checking. You can enter a airport code and you will get results. Try it.

[Edit: "Clickable" problem now gone. All is right with the world.]

I've been having similar issues for days. "Select" button does not open up room categories. Previously was only an issue using Chrome, now spread intermittently to Safari as well. Firefox still working.

This seems to be related to the dreaded "Room key" pop-up. Apparently Hyatt would rather sell hits to Room key than actually allow its customers to book rooms on their website
