Current and historical promotions

This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.

The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.

Feel free to discuss alterations to the format in the thread below.

Do not delete historical posts.

I feel kinda stupid to ask, but where do you get the Scandic 3rd floor status for free?

I'm not sure if it's still alive. No proof of SJ Black was required at the time I did it.

More on Nordic Choice hotels

Plat membership comes with a Hertz Presidents' Club membership

https://www.hertz.com/rentacar/hertz...d_Platinum.xml

which again can be matched to National's Exec Elite (sorry, I lost the link)

... and to stay on topic (AY)

AY+ points can be transferred at a rate of slightly below 3:1 to Nordic Choice (23/46/92k AY+ -->> 7,5/15k/30k NCC) Reward night 10-50k NCC points. Haven't done the math, if it's a good value for the points. Certainly better rate than the Accor 7:1 transfer rate.

Gold comes with it too.

https://www.hertz.com/rentacar/hertz...ceClubGold.xml

I did manage to get through though yesteday after those links were dead for few hours, but can't see the status anywhere on their pages (which are pretty lousy I must say). Emailed them about it.

Not a new promotion, but anyone remember when was the "upgrade with points" promotion last winter?
I need European upgrades for 4 persons and there is a potential for 8000-10000 points saving if I only had the nerves to wait for a promotion.

In January, it has been one part of Matkamessut "sales".

If you want to change AY points for free Night in F6 Hotel in Helsinki it is whopping 92000 AY points! Little bit less for Clarion Helsinki..

The Helsinki hotels are pretty pricey. But you could stay at the Quality Hotel close to CPH for 7,5k (ie 23k AY+) or the Comfort hotel close to OSL for 10k, ie pretty good deals if you need to stay overnight at the airport.

Staying in CPH, your 23k AY+ would have a value of 1145DKK ≈155€. 0,67 cents per AY+ point is decent value, no?

Opening offer for Clarion hotels in Helsinki area: 50€/night. Book by Dec 8 and stay by Dec 9. A good chance to experience two new hotels and earn some AY+ points.

Still a few days left of booking award flights with less points. 30k return for Europe; 100k for US and Asia. The promotion expires Oct 30th.
