Current and historical promotions

This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.

The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.

Feel free to discuss alterations to the format in the thread below.

Do not delete historical posts.

Didn't see the Finnair.com frontpage offers here yet. Euros + points offers to Asia.

For example BJS 1399€ + 4k points in J or 439€ + 2k points in Y.

Seems decent for the normal 1800€ in J.

Though just checked that you can get it for 1600€ ex-FRA which would credit you a decent 40k points.

Books into U class, earns ... ?
Very often these € + points offers are not bargains points-wise.

I am under the impression that these points plus cash offers earn nothing!

They seem to be geared towards the once or twice a year flyers with very few points...

Or for the flyers who are really (over)loaded with points.

AFAIK, kauppias is right, "money + point" fares don't earn AY+ points (and probably don't earn in any other OW FF programme either)...

First time I saw BJS airport code - usually it's jst PEK. Learned something new again

But 1400€ + 4k points are a good deal - no positioning flights needed.

The money+points offers are not really promotions, and they are rarely of interest at all to the FT membership since they do not earn points.
This means that the real point cost is hidden. You need to add the loss of points before you can decide if it is a great deal or not. So the 1399€ + 4k points is actually 1399€ + 54000 points

People values points differently, but let's say 54k points is worth 600€. Then the offer is actually PEK for 2000€.

So let us think twice before we flood this space with the ubiquitous points+cash offers, please?

They aren't upgradable, either.

HEL-PEK-HEL is 32k points for the masses and 40k for Plat (ex-HEL) so your calculation is off somewhat, but I follow the logic.

OTOH, if one has a several '000k points, one tends to value them less - to the point of next to nothing. (Should I spend 4k and forgo 40k or cough up 5-6-700€ more in cash? For me the answer is clear, for you might be the opposite)

"Buy points between 3 October and 30 October, 2016 and you will receive up to 40% more points.
Buy 1,000 – 9,000 points = No Bonus
Buy 10,000 – 29,000 points = 15% Bonus
Buy 30,000– 49,000 points = 25% Bonus
Buy 50,000 - 70,000 points = 40% Bonus"

Noticed by accident by going to the plus shop.

Hard to get value in those prices even with the discount

Allmost 500€ upgrade on LH

But perhaps Jr awards might be good values...
