Been a weird day food wise. Not a single real meal because I�ve been doing various Xmas runs - Bakery, Costco, Whole Foods, The Wegmans (those last two were truly torture regarding getting to it and finding a parking spot) and also the ABC store because of course finally needed another bottle of Pernod (Oysters Rockefeller). A late dinner was ultimately Rochambeau Oysters on the half shell that just arrived earlier this evening and wonderfully fresh having just been harvested yesterday morning

We got Chinese take-out from a local place my family and I have been going to for many years. I didn't realize until I visited the website tonight that they've been around since 1988! Our selection was the mapo tofu (spicy) with fried rice, chicken and green peas and szechuan beef with steamed rice and it was perfect for a night we didn't feel like cooking (plenty of that to do tomorrow). The hot and sour and egg drop soups were also fairly good, though the former needed just a bit more spice.
