Hanukkah party on Sunday night with 4 other families. This was sweet because we’ve known the hosts for years and don’t gather as often as we should especially because our kids are seriously together. On Saturday night I fetched my son from somewhere at 10:20 and we fetched his girlfriend and went to our house and then we drove his girlfriend home at 11:30.

brisket with wild mushrooms (supposedly recipe is from good housekeeping)
latkes
salad (Bibb lettuce)

uneaten gems:

brisket - traditional recipe
lox
chopped liver
dips

desserts:
opera cake
jelly donuts
fruit
Jellied fruit (I failed to eat this, sigh)

Another decadent dinner of Lobster Newburg as I am slowly making progress through my lobster stash in my garage freezer paired with Taittinger’s Domaine Carneros. And fear not my fellow Champagne Enthusiasts, there’s a few days of decent proper Champagne coming as I ordered an overnight of fresh seafood from the Keys

I concur. But the lasagne looked a bit oily. I hope there was a baguette to soak that up.

thank you! It’s from the cookie exchange from Sunday that I cohosted for my Momz group. The main host (even if she called me her cohost) first invited me to the cookie exchange in 2010 - I’m forever grateful to her for inviting me into her Momz group when my son was only 7 months. I got so much out of it. Oh - this plate was just from Sunday and the other mom took the photo.

It’s pesto oil, I think… alas it was plenty.

Back to Forbici - was going to try to go to Dishoom but my goodness they think highly of their prices - might just swallow it and go tonight but I know there is at least a location in Edinburgh I can go to next week if I miss it here
