Thats something most people should be able to put together without having to go shopping for ingredients. I usually have what I need to put a bowl of pasta on the table. At its most basic, thats pasta and sauce. In my freezer, I usually have onions, peppers, sometimes meatballs or Italian sausage. In the pantry, jarred sauce and diced tomatoes. In the fridge, parmesan cheese.
We would do it more often, but we prefer spiralized veggies to pasta.

I don't use jarred sauce but my pasta go to is usually a lemon juice, olive oil, garlic combo or a carbonara with bacon or pancetta from the freezer. I always have fresh basil so if I happen to have fresh cherry or grape tomatoes I have dinner...bonus if there are some kalamata olives to throw in.

You really prefer spiralized veggies? I know people eat them as a healthier alternative but never heard of anyone preferring them. wow. I assume that you have a spiralizer and can whip them up anytime.

And, yes I throw sliced olives into my pasta sauce if I have them (and usually do). I’ll either chop up ham to add or if there’s no ham, then I prefer green olives because they’re saltier. And garlic. Because they don’t make a jar sauce that’s garlicky enough for my taste.
I was introduced to the ham by our post-hurricane caterer. The first time I fished out a strip of cold cut ham from my pasta, I was WTH? But I love it. Could also be bacon. It’s really about the smoke and salt, I think.
You made me wonder about spiralized breakfast potatoes. I will have to experiment some morning this week.

Inspired by this thread. Spaghetti and meat balls. Jar sauce. Added garlic, yellow bell pepper, onions, zucchini, green olives, carrots.

I finished off the last of some stuffed grape leaves my Dad made when he visited last month (I defrosted them recently). They were paired with a salad made from lettuce I harvested from my garden earlier this afternoon (accompanied by black olives, some crushed nuts in lieu of croutons and a tiny bit of cheese).
