In memory of CMK10, Steak Saturday! Picked up some ribeye's from a local butcher shop and made peppercorn sauce, along with the asparagus and fingerling potatoes.

I ate there about a year ago and we all loved it. Unfortunately we were the only people in the place and I was afraid they would fold. Food was delicious . How did you like it?

Dinner
Fritto Misto--Hermosa Beach
Tons of hot, crusty bread---we asked for olive oil & balsamic and they brought a dish with a huge piece of grated garlic along with it. Yum. Then chicken picatta with linguine. We went to get ice cream after & there were maybe 30 people in line and it is freezing out so passed.

Well it hasn't folded. We went because Lyn received a card. Her assessment - a wonderful date place. Agree that the food and the service was excellent. We got there at 4:30 PM and were one of two occupied tables until about 5:30 when more and more folks started showing up.

The challenge of this week's on-shore flow - quite cool and windy. Not simply just the standard night and morning overcast conditions - it is straight up cold.

WRT Fritto Misto - sounds like your main was our main. We'd have gone with the freshly made linguine as well but the waiter was quite proud of his involvement in the production of that day's orecchiette so you can see what we got.

I hadn't been in years but Fritto Misto is the best kept secret in the South Bay. What a bargain and delicious food. Our linguine was in the same creamy lemon caper sauce as the chicken. Towards the end we were dragging bread through the yummy sauce.
Avenue A gets overshadowed by Rex & Kalaveras. Glad you enjoyed it.

How was it? Might have been cheaper to drive there!

I had a late lunch so wasnt too hungry. I made Tuscan bean soup and had that for dinner.
