I am the guilty party but I have an excuse (I know that's what we all say). I thought my punishment (besides personal shame) was being forced to eat them but they were very forgiving. Plus very good behavior with the risotto softened the blow.

The plan was to pick up pizza from the nearest pizzeria, Brooklyn’s. We went to a book reading at 4:30. I called afterwards and no answer. I looked online and Tuesday is their day off. So, backup plan is the next nearest, Rodello’s. Never closes. Bacon and onion on one. Sausage, olives and bell pepper pictured. Homemade garden salad.

Salad, bread roll, Brussels sprouts, yellow rice, fajita chicken w/ veggies and beef tri-tip with a chimichuri sauce. Delicious!

Just last night I decided it has been ages since Ive made Mexican at home. I have a Rick Bayless cookbook and a second thats very basic. I will probably save it for Saturday night. I am craving those fish tacos.

Same day changed for a stopover in LAS to have a Dairy Queen Blizzard. Once in a while, just gotta have one; still get a kick from their upside down thing before handing it to you. Anyway, tried Popeye's fried chicken for the first time. Pretty good! Now, I understand why there's always a line.
PS - Still prefer KFC though.

As for Popeye's, I prefer them to KFC. Down south they haven't done this (in fact, I think they've only done this in Canada) but KFC shrank the size of some of the pieces and kept the prices high... And I find the quality (at least in the past, haven't had any in a while) was much better at Popeye's. Juicier and more satisfying.
