Is there an “expired food” thread? 😁

Boxed pasta, I wouldn’t be too concerned about. Canned and bottled products too, as long as the tops were still vacuum sealed. I’d probably do a sniff taste after opening those.

Same. I think my people are like that. But the fact that the cheese powder was rock hard means the packet may not have been sealed well.

ETA: I officially took Cheetos back a month ago too.

It was fine. I didn't break up every single clump of the rock hard cheese powder, so I had a few very salty cheesy bites. Could I tell it was 2.5 years past its prime? No. :D

Saag paneer and lamb vindaloo, from the frozen section of our local Trader Joe's.

I had forgotten how good, and spicy, they are.

The lamb is really good. The saag paneer, well, it is spinach, which makes it icky. More for you.

it was Annie's, so your mold was organic and sustainable, clumpy or not.

omg omg I love saag paneer and spinach. I love the Indian spinach without cheese as well. I love Indian food so much.

I served a cereal snack to my child but then had to clear the floor so they could video chat with friends who didn’t attend school today. So no snack for me and soon it’ll be supper so I guess no snack for me. And I’m craving toast.

No, sorry, they are not the organic varieties. Good ol' conventional mold.

No, no, no. It’s special, aged cheese! Usually costs triple.

$8.14 for a case of 12 = $0.68 per box. Is that triple the cost of the cheap stuff?

Ironically, I just did the same thing, finding things that expired back in 2015, 16 and 17 in the upper levels of the cupboard. Included were Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, Brownie mixes, microwave popcorn, and some EVOO. Of course, everything went into the garbage as I didn't want to take the chance of my wife getting food poisoning when her body is already compromised by Cancer.

Midnight desserts
assorted Girl Scout cookies - Samoa, trefoil, lemon
double-stuff Oreo
chips ahoy with reese’s (these are really not great)

my favorite Girl Scout cookies are Samoa, toffee, and s’mores. They all have a pleasing crunch.

Ohhh, I'm sorry. Sending you and your wife healing thoughts.

In your case, it makes sense to throw out all of that.
