Or that there were fish tacos and grilled cheese sandwiches being served at the same lunch.

I never would have eaten a fish taco as a kid. I'm going to assume it's his child.

The container changed color!

One was the pan it was baked in, the other the plate. I take overhead shots with my phone so they don't look too weird when they get rotated 90° when I post them.

I'm also assuming it is young-gao that won't eat a fish taco.

Wait... not even fish-sticks? Wrap one or two of them in a corn tortilla and I would have been in heaven as a kid.

I wonder how that would taste now...

Actually I’ve finished the Gayle’s so now down to San Luis and Alfaro brands. The Alfaro remaining pieces are dented and I’m slowly eating them for my own grilled cheeses, resining timorros.

Another factor. Grilled cheese is so fun to make and eat :-)

For lunch a Cornish Pasty from St Agnes bakery, and some crudites. Can't be beat on the cliffs.

Ran across this years Lay's Limited time flavors. The wavy Carnitas Street Taco is good, next up the regular Lay's Philly Cheesesteak flavor. I won't touch two of them as I don't eat/like spicy.

Well, I believe Gao grilled the fish, not breaded. Definitely wouldn't have eaten that taco as a kid. But I loved fish sticks. Saw them at the store when we were buying ice cream last weekend and tried to convince my wife we needed to buy them...she refused. But fish sticks should be eaten with one's fingers, and dipped in tartar sauce! It's probably been over 30 years since I've had them, but lately I've experienced some nostalgia for the foods of my childhood.

Home made raspberry polenta cake, still warm from the oven, for tea. What a treat and good to line the stomach ahead of a Lebanese wine tasting this evening.

Pork chops pan-cooked in a sauce of peach juice and peaches with seasoned Brussels sprouts.

I was going to have these for dinner, but because of my schedule today, it made more sense to cook them for lunch.

Actually, some of the higher end frozen breaded fish products are pretty tasty. I wouldn't hesitate to make fish tacos with them.
While I love grilled fish, I don't care much for it in tacos.

Trader Joe has a frozen beer battered halibut that is really good in a taco.

Mushroom Swiss burger, no bun, with a side salad. I think the salad may have been tossed with a little sweet and sour dressing, but I'm not going to sweat it even though I'm avoiding sugar.

leftover Moroccan chicken tangine (garbanzo bean / carrot / nuts) with couscous.
small grilled cheese
bagel with scallion cream cheese

bunny bun (roll-ppang) with Matcha milk jam - super yummy!

I prefer grilled fish for taco without mayo-style sauce; I don’t like tacos of battered fish with aioli and slaw.

One day I’ll maybe try it just on its own.
