Had friends come up for the week. We ate:
4 dozen Wellfleet oysters
4 dozen littlenecks (steamed Portuguese style with linguica)
At least a dozen homegrown tomatoes, mostly just raw with salt
along with a ton of scallops and a few other bits and bobs.

I'm going on a diet next week.

There's maybe 4000 calories total in all that, split between everyone, depending on how much linguica and assuming it wasn't literally "a ton of scallops" :)...no diet necessary!

That's practically a fast! But I missed the linguica the first time I read it.

You're assuming that the kid is a boy...gaobest is always playing the pronoun game with their family. :)

Yes!

Chipotle. A salad with steak, cheese, guac, and spicy red sauce.

This was on top of the usual fried seafood and heavy fare that comes with people's vacation eating habits up here.

I'd bet I averaged 3k-3.5k calories a day between Saturday and yesterday.

I can’t see oysters and scallops having that many calories. Linguica - maybe 1000 calories per pound?
linguine would be worse...

Lol - you really don’t know sourdough or products at Safeway... Safeway is an Albertsons style supermarket.
I’m the one who eats the $12 tartine bread but only toasted with butter or nut butter. I myself only would use supermarket sourdough for my own grilled cheese.

you’re almost like kipper - you’ll walk past us on a plane in disgust or jealousy on your way to your seat in F, as you’d want the first row as well.

Yeah - I definitely was conservative, on the high side. I assumed there would be a fair amount of butter and other things added to the "ton of scallops". :)

I don't prefer the first row actually.

Over my 35 years or so flying, I’ve sat in coach more often than in first or biz. However, the older I’ve gotten, the more I value comfort, if I can get a reasonably priced big seat.

I regularly fly in coach on LCC’s in Asia, and even flew to MEL last year in coach from the US on United.

We put away a bit of the cheddar, the manchego, and a few slices of the jamon. But otherwise, yeah, two of us finished it off.

The board manufacturer actually reached out to me today regarding the photo. I know some of the local restaurants I IG appreciate the call-outs, but this if the first time I've had a national group feature me. I feel like a real influencer now. :D

:D I don't like avocados, only because of a very rough food poisoning incident years ago. :D

Tillamook caramel toffee crunch ice cream and reduced fat kettle potato chips for lunch. One of the perks of being a grown-up.
