Tenderloin ground up into the perfect patty...
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0b95de40ce.jpg Started eating it before pic because it was that good. |
Breakfast - some slow cooked oats with diced pear, brown sugar and vanilla cooked in.
Lunch - grilled pig VN vermicelli bowl. Not home-prepared. As I type this, I hear an ice cream truck wandering the neighborhood playing "you are my sunshine." Since I didn't want to run out to the street and get hit by a car, I am continuing typing this. |

Your determination and perseverance with that crab is both admirable and nauseating at the same time ;)

Odd that with $68 worth of king crab, you would have leftovers for several meals. Are you sure that you had king crab, and not snow crab?

Indeed. That would be one nice dinner for the 2 of us, and enough leftover for a snack or 2.
I think I bought frozen snow crab claws for $25.99/lb at Costco but I知 not certain on cost. They池e good but not as great as Stone Crab, which had been my hope :-) |

This. At $27.99/lb, $68 of king crab legs is enough for supper and leftovers.

Breakfast sandwich, yogurt, banana, and coffee at a Hampton Inn. Not bad for the price

A lonely banana that was getting very ripe.

Yesterday’s dango reminded me that I can make kinako - a flour made with barely roasted soy beans (has to be gently tanned, once they start to brown it just tastes burnt). Hadn’t done it in years and forgot how straightforward it is to do.
Made the kinako flour (just need a pan/skillet and a blender or coffee grinder) and am starting one of my favourite cookie recipes. Will finish the cookies tomorrow (the dough needs to be cooled twice before it is finally baked, so just need to roll it out in the morning) https://teaandsweet.wordpress.com/20...bread-cookies/ |
Missed the Thai fruits and bought this frozen passion fruit ($1.99) from the Vietnamese market (Thuan Phat) - not even close to the real thing! Will have to wait for our next trip ...
