Grilled chicken drumsticks, grilled (thick) asparagus & cole slaw. I made the cole slaw by hand when I discovered my food processor was kaput. Cabbage, carrots, cilantro, radishes seasoned with a little mayo, celery salt, rice vinegar and black pepper.

I have zero issues with mackerel. I’ve eaten live drunken shrimp and I love chicken feet dim sum, so do I really have high standards? People here got grossed out when I mentioned headcheese sandwiches and tongue for sandwiches, tacos, entree, and surely more :-) I had chicken feet in Beijing and they were gross. I remember liking the sauce they were in but just kept chewing and chewing and chewing and one was more than enough. I don't know exactly what drunken shrimp are but I wouldn't eat any live animal. Also head cheese is kind of gross but I'd try it if it were in front of me. Tongue is on my short list of "ewwwww gross no". |

are you sure that you haven’t had Lengua tacos? Just so there’s no confusion, the tongue is beef, from cow. It’s not human.

I don't understand the hatred of mackerel. I agree that, in sushi or sashimi, it's not so great, but either plain grilled, or smoked, either plain and accompanied by lemon, or in a pate, it's one of the very best.
