Frittata with sausage but the most delicious thing was the IPPUDO Daiichi miso Ramen soup which I had on both flights from the "Light Dishes Anytime" menu!

I’d have asked for the fried pasta snack, if only to discover what it was all about. Never heard of that.

DiningBuzz content will be much duller now that you are home.

I don’t know which brand ANA uses, but if you plug in フライドパスタスナック トマト味 into an image search you’ll see what it looks like.
Spoiler - disappointingly similar to what you might expect!

At my usual spot in Downtown Raleigh (Sono Sushi). Seaweed salad (which they annoyingly put tomatoes, radish and carrots in), Chef Choice Nigiri plate which had tuna, mackerel (blech), squid and salmon today and then I added a couple pieces of eel. Should see me through afternoon court.

Radish actually doesn't sound so bad. I'm glad to find someone who shares my thoughts on mackerel.

It's a prepackaged snack that you get when you first board. I packed mine and will take a photo to post when I locate it :)

Same here. Mackerel is great bait for crab traps here on the north coast, but never for human consumption. :)

You guys are alright. My dad meanwhile LOVES Mackerel sushi. It's in his top three favorites and he'll order extra. Ugh.

A suitable ingredient for cat food. One more reason I wouldn’t have a cat in the house.

great way to not have to share :-)
I have zero issues with mackerel. I’ve eaten live drunken shrimp and I love chicken feet dim sum, so do I really have high standards? People here got grossed out when I mentioned headcheese sandwiches and tongue for sandwiches, tacos, entree, and surely more :-)

Very little grosses me out, including mackerel. I'd try all the things you've mentioned and like some of them. But mackerel doesn't taste great, and is my last choice for sushi/sashimi/nigiri.

One of my food rules is if it doesn’t smell good, it probably doesn’t taste good. I know there are exceptions but why take a chance? Mackerel doesn’t smell good. Is there (cooked) bacon sushi?

gaobest Feb 10, 2021 2:44 pm

Silva brand Louisiana sausage on sourdough baguette with grilled onions
giant salad (impeded me from having any kettle chips)

I used to go to one special place in sf that had Strange Roll, which included bacon. I forget what else the roll had. Fun days... alas then they were sold so I’ve not returned. It was special for me because I developed my love for sushi there and the japanese chef was the owner, so it was a nice independent small business.
