More of a functionality issue than a bug.

Why is it that I can "sort" the flight search results when searching by price and not schedule? If I search by price, I can rearrange the results by different criteria (Departure Time, Arrival Time, Number of Stops, Travel Time, or Price). If I search by schedule, I have no way of sorting which makes it difficult to find the schedule flight that I want and kind of defeats the purpose (defaulting to a departure time sort would be better than the current travel time).

I don't know about most people, but I use schedule search to find a flight that either departs at a certain time or arrives at a certain time. The time of flying is less important than the time of departure/arrival.

why does delta.com end your session so quickly? A lot of us multi-task and flip screens to do work (or research via 3rd party things that Delta's own site can't/won't show us) and often come back to Delta.com only to have our session ended.

i believe our sessions expire in 30 minutes, but when shopping for tickets, those applications might expire the session sooner to ensure that the price you see is what you can get.

hope that helps.

Thanks, that makes sense about pricing changing so quickly.

Sorry if this is posted upthread.

I'm in the WC at SEA waiting for my redeye back to ATL and just logged in to check my spot on the upgrade list when I noticed the date in the drop-down under the itinerary tab for this flight is 12 Jun 2010, which would be alarming, if I wasn't already checked in and on the upgrade list. Date shows correct everywhere else in the itinerary, only the drop down menu is wrong. Pic below. I obscured the confirmation number because I am paranoid.

The dropdowns don't correspond with the description of "Participation Levels". It is confusing to as to who qualifies for what.

Delta.com sends names to nwa.com in a fashion that prevents automatic processing of upgrades if your name has a middle initial or suffix.

Customer service tells me that this is a longstanding, known issue. What are the prospects of a near-time resolution

I see that the delta mobile website now shows accurate mileage summary/activity numbers - this is a great development, thanks. I was getting tired of using the non mobile site on my phone

I had the same problem and did not realize what it was until Friday. My middle initial has a space between my 1st name on NW and does not on DL. It messes things up and no one knows how or what to change. It has to be manually addressed with 10-30 minutes of phone time.

This isn't really a bug, but it's a request about a problem.

We all know the issues with award searches. Since Delta went to the three tiers, we have no way to know how much each leg is really costing.

This is pretty frustrating, as sometimes you end up with pricing that obviously reflects getting low on one leg, but you don't know which leg.

If the per-leg pricing could be shown somewhere on the flight selection screen, I think that would be a big help. It certainly would be for me. I would know which date I actually found some "low" availability on, and I could then keep trying to find a date for the other leg.

It might open up the can of worms about how some of them are being priced, but those should all be explainable somehow, right?

Anyway, if you could find a way to do this I think it would help at least some of us.

Thank you!
David

Ref award searching ... it's kind of a double-edged sword. If you search by schedule, you can get better results but, yep, the mileage per segment won't show on the selection screen. Searching by price is harder, but you can see mileage rates on the selection page. Would be nice if we could see mileage rates while searching by schedule, because it is still a factor, esp with three tier. Just my 0.02.

I'm having a similar issue today. I'm looking for a multi-city trip, and click on show by Price. However, when I search, the results come up by schedule. If I click the start over button, it has reverted back to schedule. Since my schedule is totally open on the days I want to travel, I really just need to see it by price.

i discovered a bug new to me recently while using the award calendar.

if i put in a test case of early july departure with late july return for the route ATL - LIR in coach with every checkbox checked, the flexible calendar does appear. all or all but a couple days are shown as medium (yellow) for both outbound and return.

BUT - if i then click the arrow to bring up the following month's results, followed by clicking the reverse arrow back to the july results again, suddenly there are low, med, and high levels shown. it is as though the act of moving backwards one month causes a more thorough retrieval of award inventory...

I just had something very strange happen. I went into My Itineraries to see if an upgrade requested at time of ticketing for a flight on Wed. had cleared. Instead of 'confirmed', there was 'Available' with a box to check and 'submit'. So, I did. When I refreshed the page, I now see that my return, rather than showing requested, shows a box to check with "request" and a button to submit. So, I do. And I call PSS to discuss the issue. The first rep says I'm not requested on the return and she's put me on the list. I explain what has occured and she basically says, tough luck. I call back, get another rep who says she's never heard of this happening before, but, there is nothing she can do, I'm stuck with my new time stamp. Not good, I made the reservation almost 3 weeks ago, for a flight home to LAS through ATL on a Friday afternoon. Any suggestions?

BamaGirl : were there any changes to the flight? i've never come across a situation where an upgrade requested at the time of booking showed the option to request the upgrade later (since it should have already been requested).
