This morning, I dropped future Mrs. RatherBeOnATrain off at ATL so that she could catch 0110. Wondering if she left on time, I naturally tried to use the "Flight Status" on delta.com. The website gave me this information, under the columns "City", "Scheduled", "Estimated", "City", "Scheduled", "Estimated":
Buenos Aires (EZE)
Gate 3 9:30pm
03 Feb On Time
Atlanta (ATL)
South Terminal
Gate E5 6:00am
04 Feb On Time
Atlanta (ATL)
South Terminal
Gate B32 7:25am
04 Feb On Time
Los Angeles (LAX)
Terminal 5
Gate 55A 9:32am
04 Feb On Time
According to flightaware, at 08:53AM, the plane was at 34.72 -92.84 275 West 357 411 0.62 36,000, which is apparently over Arkansas... so I'm disappointed to see that Delta.com is only showing estimated arrival and departure times, including for its completed leg.

Guess what? Delta award calendar again does not work! Gives the screen with color coded availability, but when selected, says noo flights available, asks to revise... and keeps looping!

The mobile web site responds that the session has timed out when searching for flight status. Why should I have to be logged in to check the status of a coworkers flight?
When I refresh the page I have to reenter all the information.
Using a bb curve 8900.

What's wrong?
I am trying to look at purchased fares from ATL to BLQ (Bologna). I can get different routings either through CDG or AMS. When I then try to use the Multi-city feature to extend the layover in CDG or AMS (but keeping it less than 24 hours so it is not a stopover) I get error messages:
No flights are operated between AMS and BLQ
or
No flights are operated between CDG and BLQ
Any ideas on why this obvious bug exists, or what can be done?

This is for a DL Reserve Certificate. When I went to Redeem Your SkyMiles Companion Certificate here, it prompted me for the Certificate Number which I entered. It then went to a second screen requesting my Last Name and SM number which I also entered successfully. Then it sends me to a page for requesting flights using the companion cert. I enter the origin/destination and dates and get this message:
The cabin class entered is not valid for this eCoupon or Certificate offer.
The only thing is, there is no cabin class choice on the flight request page. Further, the cert is good for certain fare classes in both the F and Y cabins.

Spent a frustrating 45 minutes on dl.com last night trying to book ATL-CDG RT for a trip in a few weeks and kept getting a message saying that the fare I'd chosen had just sold out and to please try again. After several attempts using different flight combinations I just went ahead and redeemed an award ticket (on fllights that dl.com wouldn't let me purchase). So Delta's web site just cost them $1100.
Had I not had miles available (this award cost me 75,000, not fantastic but not bad considering that this was a last minute-ish ticket that required very specific travel dates) I could of course have contacted customer service and then done the obligatory walk-through with web support to prove that I am not, in fact, an idiot. But I didn't feel like wasting that much of my time last night.

I am really losing my patience with Delta.com. I have tried all week to search for a SEA-Europe round trip ticket for February.
I have no problems getting an outbound flight. However, the inbound is a problem every single time I do a search. Not one return trip will get me back to SEA on the day I depart Europe. They either overnight me in AMS for 18 hours or triple connect me through DTW and ATL to get me back after midnight.
For example, searching SEA-LHR, the return flights are LHR-DTW-ATL-SEA (departing 925am and arriving SEA at 1210am the next day). ...! Where's the LHR-DTW-SEA or LHR-MSP-SEA or LHR-JFK-SEA flights? I know they exist. How? Because if you do a reverse search (so LHR-SEA r/t) departing on the same day as I'm trying to return from SEA-LHR, a whole lot of flight options appear that get me home on the same day at a decent time in the afternoon. And the fare class is the same or even lower than the fare class offered on the overnight flights back from Europe.
What gives? Now I have to call the airline and probably get charged the $20 call center fee which I'll have to call three times to get reversed again.
PS - I have just done a search on kayak.com and wonderful itineraries show up for half the price of Delta.com for Delta flights! Oh, and the return goes right through JFK and gets me back home at a decent time. UGH!

I was looking at award availability from WAS area to HNL this morning. Just out of curiosity, as we're not going until June 2011, but wanted to see if it's worth moving some Amex points over.
I found first class for 75,000 round trip, which is awesome! But, every time I try to select a return flight, it just keeps showing me the outbound....
What is going on? I guess I'll try later.

I will never use the web site and always call
I tried searching by schedule for 7AM outbound
MSP-DCA 2/17
The direct flight at 7:10 AM does not come up 1st even after removing connections.
Worst of all
DCA-MSP 2/17 search at 5PM. What comes up is a single flight connecting via IND
YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!!
What a bad joke the web site is. I will now just call the elite line. I checked expertflyer and there are plenty of seats on the 2 direct flights after 5PM.

bug? promo?
Is this a bug or some sort of promo or mileage realignment I don't know about. Seems to be giving me a 50% milage (not mqm) bonus for u fare.
shows both ways, but here's a o/w breakdown
JFK to Nice Delta 0082
Class U
SkyMiles 3991
Bonus 1995
Total 5986
MQM 3991
Seg 1

Similar experience on the other side of the pond, tying to get "nice" itineraries to the US. During the pre-merger times, the flight selection never included the only nonstop flight on DL metal from STR to ATL - only routings via CDG, nor did you get any AMS connections. Since the merger all the sudden, they only prompt me ATL connections with insane layover times and even overnight stops - this is for flights to DTW, ORD or the eastcoast (!!). Who will buy a 16+ hr ticket, for what can be done in 11. Pricing on these itineraries is through the roof as well. Where are all the flights via AMS gone that, during NW times, were easily available? I mean, they signed a codeshare aggreement last year...
Also very frustrated with the ability to check/edit your itinerary online when being booked on KLM, but flying DL metal - no chance to select seats, goofy formated itinerary prints....
Wishing back nwa.com - you should expect, if two companies merge, the better system will succeed
