You are probably grabbing the same last seat (at that price) on both sites. Someone else could be looking at it as well. Until you purchase you don't have it on any site. If you are still worried about it clear your cookies and add your FF# after.

My suggestion is to stop reading crap.
In redtailshark's defense, I can understand his frustration. There's not many of us that haven't gotten the DL.com "Sorry! That "low" priced seat you wanted isn't available anymore (or is it...?) but here! Here's some that cost way more than you thought you were going to pay!"

Here's the latest screw-up...

I book a roundtrip standard first class for 45k miles. But Delta.dumb takes an additional 45k out in a separate transaction. WTH?!?! So I cancel the roundtrip but it only puts back the 45k associated with the ticket. Obviously I called to get the other 45k put back - but that shouldn't happen.

I pulled up my itinerary to check in for my flights this morning. I click on the green 'Check-in' button, the page reloads, and I just get my flight summary page back, and now the ' [days] until departure' box is empty. The next page should be the page where I indicate how many checked bags I may have.

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100315 Firefox/3.0.11 NET_mmhpset (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Edit to add: same result in IE 8

Update: I found out that it wasn't a bug with the website, but it was a name display format issue on my ticket (booked by a travel agent) that was blocking check-in.

I find this hard to believe

I sent email to delta.com asking where one sees the miles to be credited on a particular itinerary. You know how many mile for LAX to SYD. This is the reply:
Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately we do not have an option online at this time to view
mileage credit for travel.

However, you can always call the Diamond Medallion desk at 877-847-6568
and a representative will be happy to assist you with information
regarding mileage.

We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you on your next
Delta flight.

Really? I have been flying Continental with a status match so this is my first booking in months. They seriously don't have the mileage online?

Yes they do, indirectly. Click the flight number, and it will pop-up a window with the flight details including mileage. It's per flight though, so you have to add up the miles for each segment to get the total. Note that you have to actually click the flight #, during selection/booking, if you just mouse-over, it shows less detail, only departure/arrival times and total duration of the flight.

This is how I do it for most flts but sometimes that info is simply missing, and not just for <500 mi. That's when I check out FlyerStats, a free iPhone app. It is a nuisance but it works.

Wrong plane type listed on seatmap

I was trying to select seats on Flight #53, the ATL to BWI leg. While the "Choose Your Seat" page does show the correct MD-88 seat layout, the top of the seat map is labeled "Boeing 777 Coach Class".

(I presume this is because FLT 53 has a change of equipment in ATL and delta.com erroneously lists the plane type from the first leg.)

That's what I'm seeing on LAX to SYD. Details on other items but not the mileage. Thanks for the heads up on FlyerStats.

For my flights tomorrow morning, the seat map that I pull up from within my itinerary page does not match the seat map that I pull up from the check-in page.

1:00pm LGA 8:25am GIG

Arrives 22 Aug 1-stop

Airport Change:

Portland, OR (PDX) to Salt Lake City, UT (SLC) on Sun, 13 Jun 2010

Delta.dumb shows the 4:29 departure the departure as only having First Class available. Seat map shows coach seats. Called Delta rep says there are coach seats still forsale.

So buy a FC seat or call and pay $25 extra for the coach seat.

Delta mobile feedback:

Is there some reason that the mobile site can't be coded to accept numeric values for SM # and pin?

NW used to be coded this way and DL mobile supposedly uses the same vendor so what is the problem?

Question send mobile boarding pass

Has anyone else had any trouble seeing the mobile BP option with OLCI? When checking in for my last two trips out of DCA, I never saw the option. On my trip out of there this past March, I had no issues with getting the mobile BP.

Thanks for replying. I was a bit surprised when I didn't see it for my last two trips, even though I had been able see and use the mobile BP option for the trip before that (same computer, same browser). Oh well, I guess I'm back to paper BPs for now. YMMV.
