I seem to remember getting ORC more than once on a VDB situation; anyone with recent experience with that?
Thanks!
Only if you get lucky. Voluntary changes are generally not eligible for ORC. Seems you were already compensated for your actions.

I always ask for my request for ORC to be noted in my record when I accept the VDB.

Interesting note, with the elimination of MQMs, my request for ORC for a flight delay on 9/6 that caused me to reroute SFO-ATL-SAV instead of my original SFO-JFK-SAV was denied. Instead I was given $150 e-credit. I am already at Platinum for 2024 and so the 770 extra MQM would have been at best 385 skymiles... so yeah I'll take the $150 e-credit.

I booked a business class ticket through Saudia Airlines (065 ticket) which is Delta's SkyTeam partner. They cancelled my flight involuntarily and rebooked me on Qatar (not a Delta partner). Would I be able to get original routing credit, both miles and MQD, as if I had flew the original Saudia flight? One of the main reasons I booked that Saudia flight was to get MQDs. If the answer is no, do you know if the answer had changed if I had booked with Air France (057 ticket and core partner) and they had rebooked me on Qatar due to a cancellation?

Was it due to IRROPs or schedule change? You have a stronger case if IRROPs, but either way, you will have to attempt to claim ORC through Saudia, not DL, as it was their ticket and they are the ones who rebooked you.

I emailed Delta about this and they said the following:

Regarding earning miles with Delta partners, you can earn miles even if you were offlined onto a different carrier. However, you would need to upload your original purchased trip receipt from our partner airline and the boarding passes of the airline you were changed to, for proof of travel. These can be uploaded on delta.com on the Skymiles help page, please select "request mileage credit" near the middle of the page.SkyMiles Help | Delta Air Lines

Does this mean I can indeed get ORC in my situation?

It appears to. There's an easy way to find out.

DL mileage credit when DL routes you on another carrier?

Can you double dip on a rerouted booking and if so how does one go about it? We were on DL in J (actually discounted Delta One so I think Z) flying SFO-JFK-DUB. The first leg was delayed. Delta put us on a EI SFO-DUB nonstop.

Can I ask Delta for mileage credit for the original flights? Though as no status DL flyers that's probably only 7K Skypesos!

You can ask Delta for "original routing credit". Use this terminology and include the specific details in your email, which should be kept as brief as possible.

Is there a direct email for the SkyMiles team I can use to request ORC? Every time I try to submit something through the website, it either throws an error (via the request credit form) or hangs (via "other issue" submission form).

When I called, the representative put me on hold, spoke with the SkyMiles team, and then told me the SkyMiles team was (literally) in the process of looking at it, but it appears no change in my account since then.

My Kenya Airways flight was a missed connection, and they rebooked me on another airline. Can I request ORC from Delta for the miles/Million Miler credit I was going to originally receive? Or is the ORC rule on applicable to DL metal flights rebooked onto other airlines?

Has anyone had success with ORC on domestic and/or all-DL metal in the post-MQM era? Obviously this doesn't really have any impact on MQDs or RDM earning, since those are purely spend-based, but it does matter for MM.

e.g. Had DCA-LGA flight cancelled as part of DCA-LGA-MEM, rebooked DCA-ATL-MEM, which is about 300 miles shorter total. Called in to get ORC since I'm close to a MM threshold, agent said she'd send it to the skymiles desk, it re-posted with no changes (MM balance didn't budge). I was really just shrugging this off, but the same thing happened to me a second time.

No ORC credit success here either. Last time we attempted it my spouse had a diverted ATL-JAN into MEM that eventually cancelled. That segment posted with all zeros. Went round and round with DL and was repeatedly told ORC wasnt a thing anymore and we werent eligible for anything (miles, MM credit, MQDs, etc, or even a refund of the segment in question). He did end up driving to get where he needed to go, but DL was totally inept in handling the whole thing. Finally gave up as it was such an inconsequential amount - had it been larger I would have escalated up to exec levels but decided to not waste anymore time on it.
