I had paid for an FCM upgrade on a flight two weeks ago. I received a notification that my flight was delayed (inbound flight diverted due to thunderstorm) and I was able to get to the airport in time to catch an earlier flight home. The earlier flight was also delayed due to WX (so I only arrived a few minutes ahead of my original flight) and I was actually able to get confirmed in the same cabin due to a no-show. As far as experience goes, I came out even, but as expected, I did not receive miles or MQDs for my seat upgrade. Since I switched due to IRROPS, figured ORC was worth a shot and I simply asked for the 99 MQD and 495 miles. No ORC, but in a rambling (AI generated?) response, they gave me 10,000 miles for a weather delay. As stingy as DL has been with comp of late, this was a great result

You bought a ticket in Main or C+. You then paid for FCM. The flight was cancelled and you flew in F on another flight.
-If you were refunded for the FCM then you are not due MQD.
-However, if you were not refunded for the FCM then you are due MQD. It's a known glitch. You need to call in and open a case with an agent.
This isn't an ORC situation... ORC would be if your airline switched since miles earnings and MQD are entirely based on fare spent. This is a situation where they either owe you a refund for the FCM or they owe you the MQD.

Yes, that is the correct version of events, but my flight was delayed, not cancelled, so the change was at least somewhat voluntary. I have not received the MQD or a refund, but I also flew in the cabin I upgraded to, so I don't feel right asking for a refund since I received what I paid for and the MQD won't make a difference for me. All that mattered was the miles and they gave me significantly more miles than I requested.
