So far this year I'm at 100% for upgrades only because I've applied RUC's at time of booking (they showed available on delta.com). I have a work trip in 11 days MCI-MSP-MDW and back ORD-DTW-MCI and not applying a RUC since the flights are so short. I'll report back after my trip.

Question, if upgraded, can I ask GA to un-upgrade me back to main cabin? I am within T-24, so can't un-select comp upgrade choice. F is full, and I am #1 for lone C+ middle seat. Currently, I am in a main cabin window seat. This is one of the few times I would love it if someone would take an upgrade, or someone buys a new ticket in C+ last minute

The worst scenario would be being upgraded to a C+ middle seat, and all window or aisle seats in main cabin are taken.

You could call and ask to be removed from the C+ upgrade list. You can also get to the gate early, about an hour before departure, and once an agent is there, ask them for the same. I've also un-upgraded a few times at the gate, when traveling with someone else.

I believe you can go through the check-in flow again (desktop website version), and on the first screen where it shows the itinerary there is something like "manage upgrades" on the left and maybe you can unselect it again there? I'm going from memory though so it may not be where I think it is or I could just be making this up wishfully.

You can definitely call to remove your upgrade request, and should note that you can choose to only upgrade if aisle/window is available. That said, since there are always changes and no-shows, there is always a chance for a better seat.

15 medallion members cleared into D1 on today’s ATL to HNL - and I can say with certainty that only two to four used RUCs…

DL 3722, RDU-MSP 10/19 - upgraded to FC at the 5 day window. Looks like there are still 3 ug seats left.

This continues to be a great year for me - I'd say I'm batting 80% on my upgrades ex-SEA, mostly to SFO/SAN and the occasional other destination. I'm about to board 1A on a SEA-AUS flight having gotten an UG at the window.

My only failure thus far has been ORD-SEA, where I booked about 10 days before departure and didn't even manage to snag a C+ upgrade.

10/15/21 DL1409 ATL-ANC. Cleared into first as a PM on a 767-400er at t-45. Used a RUC but may not have needed too. There were 7 seats available, 12 on upgrade list.

I'll hit DM on this flight.
