Come to think of it, this is almost a trip report, all that is missing are the pictures, but believe me, you don'y want to see pictures of the chaos in ATL.

Some people like gawking at car accidents....:)

Glad you made it home.

For example we're seeing slowness in a system that airport customer service agents use to process check-ins, conduct boarding and dispatch aircraft. Delta agents today are using the original interface we designed for this system while we continue with our resetting efforts.
This is interesting... so the 'power failure' or whatever it was and resultant lack of switching to backups has also exposed instability in other systems. Sounds like they're falling back to DLTerm instead of SNAP?

Made a wiki for OPs updates. Thought maybe it'd bring more organization to the mess and help to try to keep us more informed. With all the crap that's happening rn.

Why not put a wiki in this thread?

Oh and with over 530 flights canceled today... they just extended the effected waiver to 8/10 and flight rebooking date is pushed way out to 8/21.

Expect flights to be oversold into the weekend.

Because I'm a genuine idiot and forgot we could do that. -.-

Done.

From the stickied wiki:

The outrage was pretty bad

It was, yes it was. The outage was no piece of cake, either.

I'm hopefully doing an overnight connection at LAX this evening and departing in the late morning. We shall see.....

Nice update.

In addition, where available, customers are being provided with hotel rooms and other accommodations if a cancellation requires an overnight stay.

Definitely better than SWA, which didn't even offer their customers hotels during their meltdown on 7/20.

I assumed that the newlyweds were probably not old enough to rent a car.

It tells me online that I'll receive a receipt for the upgrade purchase but my bank account online shows no such purchase and I've received no such email. Is this an issue with the computer system right now?

Sounds like it, but this has also happened before the DL problem that launched this thread.

Initially, DLTerm was the only option. New hires who were told they'd never need to know DLTerm were put in a bad spot. Some can't even print a boarding pass.

Do you know what a one-way car rental -- if even available to them -- would cost? Not everyone is financially in the same financial position to do as you or I may.
