Do you know what a one-way car rental -- if even available to them -- would cost? Not everyone is financially in the same financial position to do as you or I may.

Noticed it says "where available" and wonder what happens if someone gets their own room. No mention of reimbursement.

And some package trips -- even those including segments on DL -- are bought by people doing a budget honeymoon. My last booked trip from Germany to the US SE in economy class for this year? $330 roundtrip, a price that is comparable to a "low fare" domestic economy class roundtrip ticket on DL. But for my SLC ;) to the US SE and back trips? More expensive than that when sticking to DL. |

Well, this is interesting - The "power outage" may just be a cover story for Delta actually being hacked.

My bad i was confusing the story the ajc wrote about the girl from germany going to charleston. Get a car already.
In fact, when the New Years Meltdown hit NYC in 2013 (?), I just booked myself a hotel in NYC and took the bus back to Boston the next morning. While on the bus, I called Delta and asked for a refund. They were still having problems and were happy to give me a refund (AND having an empty seat to use/resell). |

That's what I would do.

Question for y'all:
My dad is a DM, travelling today LAS-ATL-PBI. He was able to check in on the app last night, though he didn't add boarding passes to his Passbook at that time. He tried to pull up his boarding passes earlier today on the way to the airport, but his reservation wasn't showing up anymore on the app. I tried to pull up the reservation on delta.com via ticket number, but it couldn't find squat. Anyone else experience anything like this? |

Heck looking at the pictures from AJC, they may even be under 21 years old and thus not even old enough to rent a car. |

So I'm stuck in MSP for the night when my flight finally gets in from SEA. Anyways the agent told me that I'd be given a voucher for a hotel. Any ideas on where they put you up around MSP? I have a corporate rate I can use if they are not the best as I was told Delta would reimburse me within reason.

Well Ed's apology this time round seems a little more heartfelt. Hard to really think when you have so much chaos going round.

I finally made it home from NRT about 28 hours later than I was scheduled.
Delta staff couldn't have been nicer in NRT and aboard plane. Pilot came thru cabin and apologized before takeoff. I heard a little more about the hotel situation. There was a 747 to Manila, a 777 to MSP, and a 777 to LAX, and I think a few more that were cancelled. I guess they went in order of cancellations to grab the remaining hotel rooms. I heard quite a few people got hotels and dinners that were on the Manila flight. Us unlucky folks went and slept downstairs right where you get out of the immigrations/customs area. The whole north side was completely full of people sleeping. Just a guess, but I'd say 400-500 people. Each person got a foam or blowup mat, a sleeping bag, a bottle of water, and package of crackers. I barely slept as it really wasn't dark and noisy with people on phones etc. About 6 AM people starting heading upstairs and getting in line. We finally got thru security and immigration about 9:30 AM and then spent the day in the Sky Club. Met some great fellow travelers that were stranded and exchanged emails. Took the extra 9916 flight home to MSP at 3:00 NRT time, arrived MSP about 12:30. Quite an experience, that's for sure. Only saw one complete meltdown when a guy berated an agent for about 10 minutes. |
3.5-4.5 hour wait time on general line right now. Was trying to call for a friend who will be delayed traveling CHS-ATL-HNL tomorrow based on crew availability for the CHS-ATL flight (educated guess). Yikes!
