I drank too much immediately prior to the wedding to feel like it would be a good idea to drive after. Not so much that I was drunk but enough that it would have been a bad idea. Plus we had the ceremony and reception in the same place so there really wasn't anywhere to go. But I wouldn't have gone that route.

We thought of doing this but in the end, we went with a limo. The time together + the champagne made it a good choice.

We left our reception in a Pedicab. Low budget, but it was a lot of fun. :)

Our two locations (confirmed church and unconfirmed but shortlisted venue) are about a half hour apart, so there would be value for us in such an arrangement. I don't see myself drinking...everyone probably says that.

Haha - no, those stayed at home in the closet. Adding to the joke, someone even threw a 75th anniversary napkin in to the mix!

My wife was a very good sport! :)

Bridesmaids in red dresses and black boots.

Can't show up the bride. And most of the nicer boots I've seen have been with the blue skirt.

No it would be plastic everything as well as a soda machine as the bar.

Styrofoam also is a permissible answer.

It was over 90 degrees when I got married three years ago. I was drinking quite a few beers before the marriage as it was outdoors and being in a tux was hot!

As is a snack basket.

I wasn't cognizant of football until the Simms era. :D:-:

For our wedding we had a party bus. We had a lot of trekking to do so it worked out well enough. For the drive from the church to reception we had a fancy white car (old tyme Bentley, I think) which is a story in an of itself. :-:

We are aiming for late spring, and we will both have the advantage of vehicle cooling systems because the church we picked is very old-school (built 1836, IIRC) and it is a single room with no partitions. Forget a bridal prep room; not even a bridal prep closet. I brought up the lack of a prep room for both sides (mindset of event planning never shuts off) when we first saw the church and I was overruled.

I was a best man in a wedding in a historic, non-air conditioned building during a Maryland summer. Kilt and wool jacket.

And did you use a measuring cup to measure the sweat your later wringed from yourself?
