There's one newspaper that got so bad I required them to submit questions to me in writing - wouldn't issue redactions. They even revised my PR biography for a reprint and created materially false statements.

Wow - I had posted in the 'coin' thread & there were some 'questionable' posts after mine -- that were removed!

Well, you see it and you still don't believe it. Nothing that I can do about that. Are you the sort who doesn't believe it when the puck goes in behind Marty?

I don't have the same problems with reporters that some here do. Every time I have been in the paper my name has been spelled correctly and the gist of what I said was reported accurately.

You have been extremely lucky and such playing with fire will cause real burns if you don't get away from the heat by clamming up when you see one of that breed

Pretty much, yeah.

And you can see that McCartney who was such a "nice fellow" on that trip was ready to double-cross you at the first chance that he got (or the first time that he ran out of fresh ideas).

Was anyone on the MegaDo trip mean to Scott McCartney? Did someone piss on his shoe?

Good Night Box! See Y'all later!

I sat directly behind him. He seemed ok, talked with the Airline staff Shannon, LHrelate and some of the more prestigious FTrs. I didn't see him really talk to any of the just attendees.

That sounds like a good Sunday. Did you team up to laugh and point at the Florida folks during the BCS selection show?

I talked to him a little on the UA party flight - me, SkiAdcock, Golden Toque, and one or two others.

I believe there were some FTers who 'loved' sharing their stories with him -- so I'm sure he had lots of material to draw from!

So he picked up on one of the things that would cause a large amount of damage to many of the FTers.

And I am not saying that he was not doing his job. He works for a newspaper that deals with all financial matters and this is certainly a proper subject there. The only thing is that at least he should have been made to work for it by reading FT and threads like The Box and then work some more to really get a clear picture instead of having it laid out for him. Knowing what appear to be his work habits, that sort of research probably escapes him.

This is one reporter who mostly depends on PR handouts for his material.

Sometimes. But that's more a function of losing sight of the puck, despite having 52" of HD with which to watch the games.

I'm pretty sure he read the 'coin' thread -- and I have no doubt that he perused other FT threads, as well! It's possible that he already had the heads up about the Mint issues -- before the DO!

I'm not disagreeing with you, nor do I believe you to be wrong but when one of the sticky threads in MilesBuzz is a Mint FAQ, it's not like anyone has to work that hard.
