My first camera was around long before SD :D

MMC was same standard before it was renamed and made secureable, but CF and smartmedia, even had an xd

baglady I'm truly sad to hear the sad news from last night.

As for netbooks, while I love mine, the lack of CPU is starting to make me crazy at times. I've been toying with the idea of ditching it and getting a 13" MB Pro.

I was in J&R last week and saw the new Sony Netbook and have to say it's by far the nicest one i've seen yet.

And that's all that counts.

512k??!!! you have an original digital camera?

I think he meant 512mb. I've got a camera that takes 32mb cards... Does anyone else remember SmartMedia? I had to have the camera upgraded so it could accept cards bigger than 16mb...

Well, they're still selling Y, even though the seat map is 100% full. Now that I've looked in more detail, C is showing 20+ open seats still, so there will be upgrades to be processed. That lessens the chance of a Y oversell.

I fly it about once a month, only on Friday morning, and it's always packed. But I've not seen it oversold yet either. I've also not seen this many open seats in C the day before on that flight when I've been on it the last few months.

C is almost always open on the 777 flights now. No one wants to upgrade. Even I don't upgrade on it anymore since it is a waste of an upgrade instrument. Upgrading on UA946 gets you a bigger seat, fruit plate and a cold croissant. I'd just as soon bring a couple of bagels from the PC and eat them in my E+ seat.

Those are the best. Wish I could buy them for work without getting in trouble with narrow minded travel nazis.

Well, that was no fun at all. Found the right link, thence the rules, then the "no purchase" applet.

Noticed something weird with my UIO flight. When I booked the ticket 14F (exit) was taken.

I took 14A and then received the upgrade this afternoon and noticed the person was still in 14F. You think they sweet talked the booking agent?

Continuing with the tech grooveyard, my first digital camera wrote to 3.5 floppies.

I request the upgrade every time on 947 and 946 and never get upgraded — and usually I'm not even close. Despite the cutbacks, there are plenty of people still requesting that upgrade.

That passenger might also be a Gold or Platinum with other passengers on the same PNR.

Is this correct?

I called co last night to upgrade my ticket using non-elite miles and they wanted to charge me a $150 fee. They claim the fee is based upon the status of the account on which the miles are drawn on.

This is absolutely correct.

Call them back. That agent was totally wrong. There is no change fee to upgrade a ticket with miles, regardless of the account the miles are coming out of.

It isn't a change fee. It is the fee to upgrade a cheap-o domestic flight with non-elite miles.

Rewards carry the status of the account from which the miles were redeemed, not the named passenger. That's why I can always book two rewards from my account and change them at will (including the one for my wife who has no status). :-:

We had one of those at the job I held from 2000-2004. In 2000 it was still slightly cool to take it to events. By mid-2001 it was embarrassing to show up with that thing at some of the events we hosted to take pictures for the company website with it. But they were too cheap to replace it, and I'm sure they still own the thing.
