My BD year was reset to October 9. That's phenomenal. After the first 5 weeks of the year I'll be at 55K there. :D :D

I asked for my second <reserved> post to be deleted and it was misunderstood; my fault. You posted just before I did, and I wasn't clear.

Nothing I've read says that he would burn the bridge, but he certainly didn't seem as enthused as Smith Street about the move.

Copa has their own little high profit niche, by percentage they are one of the highest profit airlines flying. I don't think they NEED ST or :-:A to work, they would work fine as a codeshare whore like AS.

What airline would turn down a guaranteed source of pax feed?

Though I consider myself a fairly smart guy, I too can be silly during "silly season", and roll with the best of 'em. Just posted in "that" UA thread:

But I also don't think that it is necessarily the wrong way for them to run their program. Four other carriers (three now that DL/NW are one) have been doing this for years and they all still have quite a few elites.

"The opponents of CHANGE are free to take their business to American Airlines.

For GS and 1Ks turned AA EXP, we expect you to remain true to your posted ideals and voluntarily turn down the complimentary upgrades on all AA flights where you did not "choose" or "want" the upgrade beforehand -- think of the lower-tier elites and only accept the upgrades AA gives you on flights where you'd have been willing to use certs if still flying United. For other UA Elites moving to the AA elite ranks, enjoy the mumbo-jumbo of using certs to fight for F seats on a fleet of nearly 300 clapped-out MD80s with no IFE of any kind on 4+ hour midcon flights."
