So Taca and Avianca are merging. I don't know that anyone really saw that one coming. Then again, no one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition.

AviaTaco should be an interesting mix. Hopefully the AV influence will mean more long-hauls on widebodies, rather than just A320s sent max-range to land on fumes and a prayer.

Not sure what I want for dinner tonight.

A320s? Heck, doesn't Avianca still fly the 737-200?

Definitely not the best. BD needs a better logo, and I need better skills.

So hard to decide if I should post here or in the PWP thread. The impending 99K is quite exciting.

Post here.

I was referring to Taca's predilection for sending A320s as far as their little wings will cary them.

Nevermind. Brain fart. It's Aviacsa that still flies the 737-200. Avianca appears to have a pretty modern fleet, according to Wikipedia.

Yep. I was thinking Avianca did the same with the 737-200. But that's Aviacsa that does that.

Fewer than 20 to go.

Given DL's chummyness with AV, I suspect AviaTaco will become a SkyTeam partner, especially with SkyTeam losing CM. Will also be interesting to see whether the new entity outright surrenders LIM to LA (to focus on BOG).

ssullivan Oct 14, 2009 5:07 pm

I'm hungry.

Wonton soup very filling tonight. Must have used a different kind of mystery meat.

I definitely see that happening.
