Yes, but did you really "spend" it? Or just shift money around to generate massive numbers of points and miles? :D

No doubt, but... no TSA.:D

AUA is a pre-clearance location. I had to show my passport at the DL desk, show it again around the corner (10 feet before passport control), show it to AUA passport control, go through AUA's magnetometer (show passport), pick up my bag, go through USCIS (show passport, answer stupid questions), go through TSA's magnetometers (show passport), board flight (show passport). I'm about (various security agencies)'ed out for now. Of course, I have an overnight layover and have to resume this trip tomorrow morning.

Is that still true? I thought TSA was trying to force bizjets to be screened.

Amazingly the data is still there, I am copying it all off now, and then it looks like it is going in the trash. 8GB SD card....bye!

I broke a 2GB SD card a few weeks ago. Same deal — was able to get the data off of it, but the case was a broken mess.

Today I flew them DUB-LHR and used one of the six UG certs they gave me along with entering their DUB lounge as a *G with them.....both impressed me.

On the 1 hour flight, food, drinks, etc....the lounge in DUB was great with WIFI which I cannot believe they have one for 3 flights a day was perfect.

BYE BYE Skyteam, let the *A roll on!!!!!

I really like the BD intra-Europe C product. Were you on one of the aircraft equipped with intercontinental-esque business class seats?

One of my friends owned a jet for several years. It was a real money pit; maintenance costs, insurance premiums, home airport storage fees, landing and storage fees at every airport to which you fly, and fuel costs all add up. Had he to do it over, I think he would have just kept the single-engine airplane with which he started and put the money in the bank. With the jet (a Citation), it seemed like there was an airworthiness directive every month that required him to incur maintenance fees.

I'd probably just rather pay for commercial flights in the front cabin.

At certain airports. The last I heard, the GA community had asked them what their mandate was ...

And honestly, I broke mine a couple trips ago as well. Got all data off as well (but I think mine was just 1 GB).

Is this correct?

I called co last night to upgrade my ticket using non-elite miles and they wanted to charge me a $150 fee. They claim the fee is based upon the status of the account on which the miles are drawn on.

Call them back. That agent was totally wrong. There is no change fee to upgrade a ticket with miles, regardless of the account the miles are coming out of.

Philosopher - I would prefer to pay for Y (or use miles from shifting around funds to generate a massive number of miles) to fly commercial flights up front. :D

Hey, with all of the talk of what may or may not be fraud and money laundering at work this morning with my client (continuation of yesterday's discussion), shifting money around to create something out of nothing is fresh on my mind.

They’re trying, but they’ve misunderstood the lobbying bloc that General Aviation has with NBAA, AOPA, EAA, etc. I don’t think LASP will pass.
