Mmmm... Despite the decor, this club has a Flavia machine, with Dove Hot Chocolate packets. ^

Out at the Union Square Green Market this afternoon. One stall is selling both hand dyed wool and lamb sausage. I find that very entertaining.

LOL. Just spotted my first FT Luggage Tag on the bag of somebody departing teh US Club. Turns out it belonged to Crazyhotelguy.

Always interesting introducing yourself as Anglo Large Clawed Otter, especially with someone you haven't run across on FT before. :D

I had to repeat the handle. I'm not sure if an unprepared normal human brain can process it on the first hearing.

Not hardly. I only really post in one thread.

IIRC, when I met Scott6067 in teh IAH E PC prior to DO IV (before he became very active in teh Box), he said something along the lines of "do you post in the CO Forum very often?" :D

I can just imagine if anyone overheard you in the club. Some stranger is boarding their flight telling someone else "...and there was this guy in the lounge introducing himself to this other guy and telling him that he is an otter. Dude must be off his meds this weekend."

That's hilarious. A few times I've gotten "Oh, you're ConciergeMike...nice to meet you" when the long drawn out you're was clear proof that I was either not what they were expecting or that they had no intention of sharing space with me based on (I assume) something I've posted.

Off to run errands and begin my Hyatt MR - I see using the coupon for a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich in my immediate future.

I would think anyone who comes to FT through the front door knows your name. Since the Box is usually a "most recent post" and your handle is the one that's listed, they'd have to be blind not to have ever noticed it.

It's better than a Colgan Air Saab, especially if you can snag row 9.

The problem is that even with a purchased F ticket, UA will not release 9B or 9C (at least to scum like me ). I even went to the RCC and talked to one of the dragon ladies and she was unable to help. She told me to try 24 hours before the flight. Since I will be in the RCC 24 hours before that flight, that is just what I am going to do.

I would just like to know who in the heck gets those seats if someone with a paid F ticket can't?

Now for IAH news...I was told a delay in the train extension from B to A terminals and looking like end of 2010 or 2011 before it will be active. it was supposed to be Q12010 when they cut the A to C shuttle.

Hello all from ORD RCC in terminal B at the end of the terminal (you can take escalators down to reach it.) A very nice RCC and very quiet at this time of the morning. I am killing an hour or two before heading downtown for all day meetings. I will dispute what people have written (mostly on the UA board) about the condition and cleanliness of the RCCs that I have been in. I will have to say however that dietary pickings are slim at breakfast time. One other interesting point is that the dragon at the front desk (a very sweet one at that) asked me for my boarding pass as well as my PC card. I didn't realize that you had to be on a same day flight domestically to get into these lounges. Yet, how many people get through TSA without a boarding pass. I wonder whether I would be admitted if I were flying DL or AF?

So far, I too have found the reports of nasty RCCs exaggerated. I've been in a few that weren't so great, but mostly they've been fine. I've also experienced nothing but niceness by the people working the front desk in those lounges.

UA requires either a government-issued photo ID or boarding pass with your membership card for entry. I've noticed that some agents at the front desk are just in the habit of asking for a boarding pass, because for UA members, it appears they can just scan the boarding pass (I witnessed this at DEN yesterday with three customers ahead of me in the entry line). But if you don't have a boarding pass, an ID should be sufficient. There are signs that I've seen at every RCC I've been in this month that indicate this.
