BLEX was certain I had an affair with Derek Jeter. It's a long story, but at the time Jeter was dating Mariah Carey, not me. I did not at any time, have an affair with Derek Jeter. I had a friend who worked for him. It was a pure  situation. Whenever Jeter is on Plus1 will tell me my boyfriend is on TV. It's become a good joke for us.

Stuff like that scares me.;)

I wouldn't let that description scare you off! Every class is a beginner class, so you can just try one out & see if you like it!
I love it so much -- I've been doing NIA for almost 5yrs now! Even got new beau to try it out & he's continues to go to classes!^:-: He sees how I have real strength in my core & have muscles in my arms due to the Tae Kwon Do we do. Otherwise, I don't do any other exercise other than walking my dog!;)

No. Just lots of chocolate tastings.

I really don't care to see anything chocolate for a very long time. However, I would not turn down a sea salt truffle.

Those sound scrumptious!:-:

How about Woodford Reserve bourbon balls? I have four boxes picked up at the Lexington / Keeneland / Woodford Do.

Are they really tasty, like they look?!

I give my students questions they have to answer to reveal their preferences in my Managerial Economics class. One student just submitted an answer that all personal discretionary driving would be cut if gas reached $4 a gallon. Based upon the other information provided (e.g. fuel economy, travel patterns, various gas price points), the marginal cost to cut all discretionary travel would be $1.33 per week. This will be a very fun lecture to make students challenge their own assumptions - we're on price elasticity now but just discussed why market research / consumers can't always be trusted.

Ooohh -- I love those kinds of discussions!!^

In this case, I was referring to the one in your username as well as "location".

I was brought up a Dodgers and Red Sox fan. 'nuff said.

Is anyone from the New York Islanders reading this? :p

And regarding overcommercialism, yes it's professional sports, but the Yankees really have taken it to a new level. What other team has sold chunks of the field in little plastic cases upon moving to a new building? I totally get the historical angle of it, but it still looks like a cash grab to me.

Me personally, I dislike the Yankees almost entirely because of John Sterling.

I do as well - I really do make each discussion about demonstrating that the students already incorporate the economic concepts in question.

And just about everything made with Woodford Reserve is very good.

I've already had some pictures of me taken tonight. I haven't forgotten. I need a good 'before' pic, and the one I want to use is still living on my mother's camera.

I dislike the Yankees because of their fans. Obnoxious, spoiled jerks, the lot of them.:D:p:-:

If they can get money for such memorabilia, why shouldn't they? It's called good business, not a "cash grab". And, like you said the historical angle plays a big part of it as well. What do you think the Cubs and Red Sox will do when its time for them to move in to new stadiums?

HA! It's called passion. ;)

Seriously though, most professional sports teams have their share of obnoxious fans. There are several other teams with MUCH worse fans when compared to the Yankees.
