I bet those could go for a decent mark-up ...

Sorry, sdm1130.

I don't understand why so many people hate the Yankees... Sometimes I wonder if it's just because it's the "in" thing to do if you live outside of the NY area. Meh. :p

I'm OK with the Yankees losing tonight because it means more baseball later this week. In the end, we all know who the world champions will be. ^

Another WWTBD: I have to go to Europe week after next, coming back the day before Thanksgiving. CO to EWR would ordinarily be the preferred option but I don't want to deal with Amtrak or the NJT on that Wednesday. That leaves me the following three options:

DL to PHL on a 752
US to PHL on a 333
AC via YYZ on a 763/CRJ, 3 hour layover in YYZ, get home 3 hours later but save the client $400

All in C (except the CRJ). The miles on US or AC would requalify me for CO Gold or at least bring me within 1000 miles.

WWTBD?

My vote is for US unless the $400 difference on AC is more than 10% of the total cost to the client.

To paraphrase the "Highlander", In the end there can be only one, may it be the New York Yankees!:p:D

I'm a conflicted Mets fan too, but I decided that Phillies are marginally worse than the Yankees. It's a bit odd because I still find myself rooting against people on both teams.

I'm kinda enjoying watching the pitching decisions by Giradi blow up in his face. He's micromanaging too much. :-:

And the three starter rotation might not help ...

LOL...

You can take off from Fiji just before Midnight, land in Guam the next morning, then land in Honolulu the previous afternoon. :D

The old truism about Concorde was that the drive to JFK sometimes took longer than the flight, only to on the way home arrive before you left.

Hmmm. CO offering 2,500 miles just to sign up for a Sharebuilder account and complete one trade (no account minimum/monthly service fee). There's got to be one security out there that isn't overpriced...

I saw that. I'd rather open Chase checking - slightly larger outlay for at least 10x the miles.

Good call. Now that it can be credited to CO, no reason not to do it.

There's also the even smaller minority of "I hate them both; can someone nuke the stadium?"

My family has Mets leanings, but my hatred of all thing Philly sport make rooting for the Yankess temporarily palatable.

People hate the Yankees because of their loaded roster. Other teams can't compete since ownership happily pays the luxury tax. The nauseating degree of overcommercialism and blantant cash grabbing mentality of the franchise certainly aids and abets negative vibes as well.

Just finished at the Pre-Do pizza thing. Time to go I need to kill 15 more minutes before I can attempt to (and fail, but I'll try anyway) to OLCI for LH405. Why must zee Germans do 23 hours?

Besides - you live in Jersey and have become accustomed to certain "New York" teams playing in your home state :p

Sometimes he gets in to the stats behind the match-ups way too much.

The alternative would have been the same or worse. The Yankees rotation gets a little iffy after their first 3 starters. It has worked well with Sabathia and I expect it to work just fine with Pettitte on Wednesday night (if needed).

As long as I don't get to see Blanton pitch again in 2009 ...
