FYI - I think ordering a room-service mojito at teh W FLL might be code for something. The delivery-boy was rather flirtatious, and quite excited by the fact that he had prepared me a mojito with premium dark-rum (without my specifying as much). It's a damn fine beverage, delivery awkwardness aside.

;) you discovered the FLL secret!

Some interesting things I learned in class:

Elites can open a delayed bag report with the Elite line. In fact they are asked to do that instead of seeing the agent at the airport.

Anyone can open a claim using the kiosk at the airport. I have no clue how you go about doing that but the instructor said that can be used for this purpose.

I've called the elite line to do it before, once when I was at TYR and the Colgan agents there couldn't seem to get it done.

I've seen kiosks in the bag claim area at both IAH and EWR specially for creating a missing bag claim, or checking the status of an existing claim.

LOL, I've had several interesting room service deliveries in the past where it was obvious that food wasn't the only thing available for "delivery." ;)

Someone at a Westin asked if I wanted girls. I was struck by:

A. The utter lack of nuance
B. The statement was plural

I responded that I wanted dinner.

It was fun to get away for a few days. I also discovered the secret TSA screening line by the C Terminal Parking lot/gate E-1. I could run out there for a break and there was never anyone in the line to be screened, unlike the E Terminal employee line.

I also met some nice people from IAH, TPA and Aquadilla PR.

That E line is always short. Kinda surprised it is still open. Guess it gets just enough business.

Hmmmm.... I will have to keep that in mind the next time I am thirsty at a W in FLL!!!

If you're arriving from the rental car shuttle at either C or E, it's a long enough walk to get to that checkpoint that 90% of the time you would have cleared faster to just wait in the longer line at C or E. It's really only worthwhile if you're parking in that garage, or the C line is really busy and slow.

I did fly out of IAH the day after the Super Bowl was in Houston in 2004. Even the parking garage line was ridiculous, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the others.

But most of the time it's not worth the walk down there. The longest it has taken me to clear security at the main C line in the last year or two is still less than 10 minutes.

I have only used the A and E TSA checkpoint at IAH, I would have only used A to this point had I not decided to walk outside security, get a gatepass, and take the train WALKWAY all the way to E, it was a nice walk :) I saw all of 3 people the entire time and 2 of them were TSA and one was HAS staff.

Tonight I saw the Zero G 727 parked at BKL when I drove home from dinner. Pretty slick looking aircraft with winglets and all. Now whether it is worth $5000 a ride is an entirely different conversation.

Looks like rain took them up to Lake Ontario.

It is a great looking 727. I saw it at IAH last year one day when it had diverted there after a mechanical issue on a cross-country positioning flight.

Made it onto BART in San Francisco. I am due in to SFO at 2304 and my flight departs at 2350. I still need to get a BP and I have no idea what terminal B6 operates out of here.

Yikes.

International terminal A -- if you're in a hurry, I'd get out of BART and just run across to the far side of the International terminal rather than take the shuttle train.
