I'm going to be in ACY the week before Christmas. From Central Tennessee, the "pay no tolls" option is 25 miles and an estimated 43 minutes further. Sounds like a "DUH" decision to me ...

Take the Expressway and pay the tolls. Black Horse Pike is horrible. Take it from someone who had to deal with complaints about it all the time because people thought it was the casino's fault that the road signs coming off the DE Memorial Bridge are unclear.

 beats paying for the right to use roads when I'm trying to support their local economy with lodging, entertainment, food/beverage, (potentially gaming) and tax revenue. Besides - with at least 7 toll stops and no EasyPass, the comparative timing might well be closer.

How do you arrive at seven toll stops? The Expressway only has two its entire length.

Let me know your dates and I'll make sure I'm available.

EWR TSA strikes again.

A police sergeant who obviously does not have a dedicated piece of work/range luggage.

He shouldn't have even got out of EWR to start. And I don't like the "I always carry off-duty" statement immediately followed by "but I forgot the gun was there". Those aren't internally consistent (but this could be bad reporting).

And a loaded gun should always have PP rounds unless:

A. one's at the range, or
B. one's in the military.

I spoke too soon. I'm flying out of PHL at 0630 on the 21st. I might be around depending on the time you get in the area. The pistol range down the street from my fiancee is always an option.

Well, he is a police officer from The Peoples Republic of Wayne.

I would have to borrow/rent a piece - completely illegal in D.C. (even transported by federal standards) and no reciprocity in MD / NJ. The northeast is the most legally challenging area in this regard.

PP are personal protection rounds - the reason for hollow-points is to avoid the "through-and-throughs" of standard rounds. If I fired the gun I carry in an emergency with standard rounds, I could hit an assailant and a person standing behind the assailant.

ConciergeMike Sep 26, 2009 7:26 pm

Never heard that acronym before.

Regarding range stuff: http://www.haguesgunrange.com/rentals.htm

Oh, and if the law in NJ is taken literally, hollowpoints are illegal to the tune of $1,000 per round in NJ.

icurhere2 Sep 26, 2009 7:26 pm

As an FYI - these are what I'm carrying at the moment. These run approximately a dollar per round but prevent one from shooting through people (or walls to an unseen location) in an emergency. A handgun permit holder injuring an innocent party by using the wrong tool is a criminal offense (and should be).

Standard rounds (used at the range or in the military due to the Geneva Convention) run about 20 cents each for my most frequently carried weapon. The cost is the sole reason why a different round is used at the range and for qualifying.

I've done that before. It's always said "Please go see the agent on duty"

The kiosk "can" be used for that purpose; "will it work" is another story.
