I notice a number of box participants are showing up on the "Hall of Shame" list for the Star Mega Do - signed up, but never followed through and paid.

I also remember some cancelling by posting on the Mega Do thread - but that post was likely not picked up. Likely a good thing to email the Star Mega Do email about your cancellation. (It is possible you did and the email was lost).

With all the people signing up - it is disappointing that the organizers have not yet reach the required number of participants to break even.

I can't really blame the organizers for this, but so many changes on that DO I am not surprised many backed out.

Really not many changes to the basic schedule and format. The charter is a Condor aircraft other than LH - but I do not see where there are many changes. Yes the cost is high - so that is likely a factor.

If anything more free events have been added:
- Free dinner party on Wed night
- Big 1st class terminal party - now on Thurs night.
- Sleep over at LH's training center in Seeheim on Friday night (you pay) - but with program.
- Addition of UA event on Tues am.

No change to main start location - EWR at 3pm on Tues Nov 3rd.

I e-mailed multiple times and never received a reply. I had a few questions and when they went unanswered I sent an e-mail saying I couldn't commit to it.

If that "shames" me, then so be it.

Not really. Neither the pricing nor the schedule has changed significantly.

At the same time, counting "I'm interested" as a sign-up is misguided, especially when many of those posts/emails were prior to the final numbers coming out. Dropping off half the interested in a foray such as this is not uncommon at all. I actually think that the conversion rate is pretty high.

I just hope that we have enough folks on the charter to cover the costs. Trying to change that at this point in time would be quite rough.

Continental is hard to MR on. This is because most routes are limited to single connects on the most direct routes. If your goal is MRing UA is going to be the way to go as they tend to allow 8 segments on most domestic fares.
