Wow...this was quite the banner posting day in Teh Box.....y'all aren't helping my sleeping habits one bit :rolleyes:

G'night from one of the nicest (and most expensive) Marriott Courtyards I've ever stayed in (Wisconsin Ave. in Chevy Chase, MD). The boss OK'd it since I don't need to rent a car or pay for parking (took Amtrak and the DC Metro to get here and the practice I'm working at is half-a-block from the hotel).

CO.com making me cranky. Seem to want to list one option (my preferred option) of flights CLE-FRA as a "direct" flight with a stop over in EWR instead of as two segments. By this reckoning CO is stealing 550 flying miles from me each way while I'm trying to make plat.

Nothing at the moment. I was just playing around last night, and trying to practice my new found MR planning skills. Want to be able to do some good solid MRs early in the new year to get to PLAT quickly on CO, and build up my RDMs.

So I thought i would play with some fares and see what routings I could maximize if I were to do MRs now.

If you don't have access to the routing rules but still want to play you can do it with ITA. Say you find a great fare from TPA to ONT on UA and you want to see just how much fun you can have. On ITA use the 30-day range search, pick the duration and put in TPA::UA UA UA UA+ in the from box and ONT::UA UA UA UA+ in the to box. That'll return results with four or more UA segments. IF the prices are all too high try dropping out one of the UA bits and see if they come back down. It may not be perfect, but it meets my needs in most cases.
