Rather than preconceiving an opinion regarding the late Sir John's veracity, look instead at this declassified CIA...

Happy Equinox. You all do know that Stonehenge wasn't a calendar or ceremonial site of any kind, but rather part of a transmission grid focusing energy beams to alien ships in orbit, right? ;)

Bad link.

No, he's a really nice guy.

There's a guy who flies LAX-IAH every Sunday evening. We almost always fly home with him; he's a good guy.

Gil says hi.

(That's way inside, but it's worth keeping alive.)

Ain't that something. In the last 24 hours or so, the document has evidently been placed under FOIA request only. I will redact the post.

Anyone familiar with the various Marriott properties at LAX? Marriott or Renaissance, which should I book for Thursday night?

The Ren definitely.

I used to run into the same passengers all the time when I was commuting between IAH and MSP.

I've seen SAABs and ATRs out there, with the occasional EMB-120 up to SJC. I've been willing to drive on the 405 to skip both of those options to LAX.

I did it once because I could for the same price and I will never do it again.

Flying into CAN (ORD-NRT-CAN). We've got a Friday evening, all day Saturday, and most of the day Sunday in Hong Kong. Any recommendations for accommodations in the $300/night range?

I might have 1 free day in/around Guangzhou. Given that it is huge, polluted, and dirty, any must-see attractions? Alternately, given that it's a free day at the end of the trip, I could try and juggle my flights to have a free day elsewhere. I was considering Tokyo (never been to Japan before) - if I fly into NRT and have a ~29 hour stop (my flights are booked as two separate tix on UA and ANA, if the agent did it right), how feasible is it to get in a decent afternoon (arrive ~12p, depart ~3p next day) in Tokyo?

An excellent guess.

I saw this sign in the window of a candy store last week in the Lower East Side and thought CM would appreciate it.

Yes, they were Saab 340s. I think they are all ERJs now.

I tried to and had a delay on IAD-SAN that made me miss the SAN-LAX flight. I ended up on the non-stop SAN-SFO. Not nearly as much fun.
