So what you're saying is that the real box doesn't have a photo on it that says "Hi there. It's 1986. I went swimming today. And I've got that not-so-fresh feeling."

Ok, tell me what the deal is with SPG Amex card. Do you credit the points to SPG program or to an airline program?

I used my SPG AMEX to rack up the points. Purchases earn 1:1. Sit on points and use them for fabulous hotels that I would never be able to afford or transfer them to any airline program for 1:1 ratio other than CO or UA because they transfer at a 2:1 ratio. You also receive a 5K bonus for every 20K you transfer to an airline program. :rolleyes:v posted a while back about ANA and their mileage tickets for VS are only 63K for UC to LHR from NYC :D
So transfer 53K SPG points to ANA and that will give you 63K, just enough to redeem an Upper Class reward on Virgin Atlantic. :D ^^

What is this chair pad you speak of, baglady and jrzyshawn? I've got a couple of DL torture chamber segments coming up next week.

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o...n/DSC_0824.jpg

This is the chair pad I purchased for the HKG flight back in Dec. it has non-slip rubber grabbers on the bottom to hold the pad in place even when you move around. This was the absolute best $5.00 that I have ever spent. I think I got it at Wal-Mart or Kohl’s, I just don’t remember.

I think the chair pad will be used on flights over 6 hours in economy from now on

I'm sitting here snorting and laughing over that line. Well done, sir.

Yep. It's a private, non-denominational, fundamentalist institution. They have rules against a lot of things. I'm surprised they let me set foot on their property. But they are really, really nice people and I do like working here, even if their rules require me to be extra careful with what goes on an expense report (or how it gets reported), and I have to avoid too much conversation about my personal life.

For some reason I've managed to get a reputation at work of being a good consultant to send to such institutions. This is the 5th or 6th one I've had in four years. There was one that had a "covenant employment agreement" you had to sign at the time of hire, and adhere to as a condition of employment. I saw it once, and realized that of the 20 or so items on the list you swore not to do while their employee, I had done at least 15-17 of them at some point in recent history. The worst part was you weren't just promising not to do these things on their property; you were promising not to do them at home or anywhere else, either. I did get busted by that client once. I went out to dinner at a pizza place near their campus, and ordered a pint to go with my pizza. A few minutes later a guy from the accounting office I worked with walked in with his wife and kids, saw me, stopped by my table to chat, and the entire time his wife was fixated on the beer. Fortunately he was pretty laid back and didn't worry about it. But she had this death stare on that glass. Had the roles been reversed, and she had been the person I was working with, I'm sure my management would have heard about it.

One thing I've learned is to pull in the previous e-mails as attachments the third time I answer the same question.

Am so breaking this client's rule against ordering alcohol tonight. Thank God for non-itemized restaurant receipts.

This client sounds a little lame. Then again, I got a graduate degree from a Methodist-affiliated institution.

I ate there at least once every trip (I was in Alpine about 8-10 times). There's quite a few other places in the area that are excellent too.

The Methodists know how to party, but not nearly so much as the Presbyterians.

Why is 6 hours the cut-off? At 4 hours, I need to approve a deviation from icurhere2 procedures to sit in coach.

The stuff I've seen at Methodist and Presbyterian institutions I've worked with is pretty harmless. I attended a Presbyterian-affiliated college for my undergrad and we had a bar on campus and pretty lax rules regarding alcohol on campus. Worst that might happen was that if you were under age 21, and were caught with it in your room, it would be taken away and you'd get told not to do it again until you were of legal age.

I was raised in a Methodist church and went to a Presbyterian college. What does that say about me?

Having been more recently exposed to the Episcopalians through my partner, well, they're the ones who know how to party.
