Ok, tell me what the deal is with SPG Amex card. Do you credit the points to SPG program or to an airline program?

It seems especially strong today.

I noticed that the f:rolleyes:rum outside of teh Box is on fire today!

In other news, still no EUA for my flight on Thursday even though F is booked 4/20, with two Plat EUA cleared. All of this after I bragged last week about how easy it was to get upgraded ex-LAS. That said, I am sure my upgrade will go through so it's much ado about .

Maybe as part of the :-:A transition, they will start listing reasons on the PDA site... :D

2. CAP, T. ......... Suffer from hemorrhoids, require softer seat
3. NAD, R. ......... Remarkably obese, need wider seat
4. GRA, R. ......... Near-sighted, need armrest TV rather than overhead screen
5. HOL, A. ......... Agoraphobic, need fewer people in the assigned cabin
6. GAL, V. ......... Very short, require elevating legrest
7. BHA, A. ......... Musician, looking for more overhead space for tuba
8. NAU, A. ......... Slight of hand prestidigitator, need more room for my magic act
9. BAI, N. .......... Multiple personality trait disorder, require seat in FC and Coach
10. CHA, S. ....... Wife is in Coach, if you were married to her, you'ld want to sit in FC, too

Is this what you had in mind? :D:D:D

That would work if by "acceptable" you're only meaning clean, reasonably comfortable, and at a rate that's within the budget.

Acceptable to me also includes belonging to a loyalty program I care about, and not charging the same rate that a hotel that's 5 times nicer a few miles farther away charges. Case in point — Texas Tech. Sure, there was a Staybridge Suites across the street from the campus. But it was also on the complete opposite end of the campus from where I needed to be (and that's a big campus), so it's not like being across the street from the campus meant being across the street from work. In this case, I might be working a few miles away, yet still on the campus. And, given my preferences, Priority Club ranks below Hilton HHonors, Marriott Rewards, and Starwood Preferred Guest in terms of where I want to keep status. Even more, there are nicer hotels in the city that would charge me the same rate. So why stay in a less nice place that's only slightly more convenient but not as nice, accruing points I don't value as highly, when I could stay a few minutes by car farther away in a nicer place, earning more valuable points, for the same price? That's usually what I run into. And it's still pretty rare that I end up with a client where the closest hotel is less than a mile away. Additionally, many of the cities I work in aren't the kind of places where getting taxis and shuttles is easy or convenient, for things like going to/from the airport.

Same for me. I'm also wondering why one would use Texas Tech as an example of anything?

SPG. On the off chance you want to move them to an airline you can and you get a 5K bounus for moving 20K points (though UA and CO transfer at a 50% discount). But you can also redeem for their hotels which is generally considered to be the better value.

The payroll clerk at this client is throwing a huge fit right now over something ridiculously minor. I'm ready for this day to end.

And I finally gave in and ate one of the brownies. I needed it to help keep me from yelling at her.

Fine, next time I'll use Piedmont Technical College. :D My client where the directions from the Hampton Inn included "Turn left at the dollar store, but not the first dollar store you get to. It's the third one. And it's a Family Dollar, not a Dollar General." Later on there was something to the effect of "We'll be in the portable building down the road from the actual campus, next to the quick lube place…"

I so love the glamor of the travel I do in this job.
