What's that price difference from? Fuel savings due to lighter weight?

I didn't think anyone else bought one of these. We had (well, still have) one that I bought about six years ago because, at the time, it was the only DVR that you could download video from (someone had written a Java app to do this). The user interface is far superior to the DVR that Fi:rolleyes:S provides us with.

I will say this for the CR7 -- it is superior to the CR2 and (so I'm told) the CR9.

Lighter weight due to fewer passengers who will willingly fly on one.

Did you call back and get another answer? We were told this once as well and just used miles from one of our elite accts. because we were in a hurry so some agents think this is correct. I don't recall if this was the exact amount but there was a fee or there was something involved.

Confirmed by sbm12 and CO Insider through PM.

According to this, an E170 retails at $32 million.

And according to this, a CR7 bends the wallet at just north of $34.3 million.

Having to financing the hardware difference of approximately $2.3 million results in an eerily similar total cost of ownership. And Bombardier's numbers seem to be largely based specifically upon commonality (e.g. "if you already were suckered into buying CR2's ...").

Bombardier throws apples and potatoes up together - the savings per aircraft is about 50k per month in operating (very bottom table) after talking about a fleet of 20 ac (10 CR2's plus CR7's or E75's) in the previous table. When one thinks about financing $2.3 million more on a single aircraft's commercial lease, that number isn't so compelling.

Essentially a toss-up for an airline but those with CR2s may drink the Kool-Aid.

Sure, it's superior to the CR2. But that's not hard to do.

I can't see any real advantage of the CR7 over the CR9, other than the fact that the CR7 isn't stretched quite as far.

I rather fly the E135/145 than a CR2. And the CR7/CR9 are the same in F (all that matters to me now). I flew a CR9 this morning and didn't know whether it was a CR7 or CR9 until I looked at the safety information card.

Probably also a slightly smaller landing fee thanks to same weight reduction.

Commonality is a good part of a pitch for everyone...and when has passenger comfort ever affected an economic decision of an airline?

Payloads are strikingly similar too - the difference is 292 pounds in favor of Embraer.

If it were me, I'm an E-Jet guy. My airline would actually give a crap if the pax are comfortable and not contorted into positions that require chiropractic to recover from. I've never experienced a CRJ, nor do I want to.

After looking at the seats in E+ today, I'm tempted to not request an upgrade on my next IAD-ATL CR7. The E+ seats almost looked like they'd be more comfortable than the awful seats Mesa has in the front cabin of that plane.

I know of a certain business development manager at a certain cruise line who secured and continues to hold her job this way. She is 22 years old, and her previous job before working for said cruise line (in a non-joke of a territory, by the way...this little tart has Northern NJ) was at Applebee's. When she flew to LAX for orientation, she could not rent a car, and her hotel gave her  at the Front Desk because the card she was using for incidentals was in her mother's name.

I did not get an interview, losing out to hotness and "talents".
