Most of the firearms we come across are really cheap semi-automatics (Hi Point seem to be the high-end of this criminal demographic), so it's sometimes hard to tell real versus fake ...

Both our girls are big Hello Kitty fans and I completely agree. Too bad they missed being on the BR Hello Kitty plane.

That plane no longer exists, IIRC. I would need a lot of adult beverages to sit on that aircraft (sort of like staying in Circus Circus).

It went out of service about a year ago. I believe I flew on it three times; at least once with Plus1. We'd spent about three hours in the Virgin club so I was tipsy before I even got on the plane. It really was hilarious. Everything, and I mean everything is Hello Kitty (FA's aprons, sugar packets, wet wipe, coaster, toothpick cover etc. etc. etc.).

On the front wall of the plane (middle) was a large Hello Kitty painting. I didn't take photos, but I'm sure some FTer has.

I need another beer thinking about that aircraft ...

Found images using Google image search on, I kid you not, a blog devoted to all things Hello Kitty. Who knew there were so many Japanese teenage girls in the world?

It's not just teenage girls; it a serious obsession for a good deal of adults!

I lurked back then and remember reading about this, which I think is pretty awesome in the non-ironic sense. I hope your cameo turned out well.

I guess all of the Hardy Boys books I read as a kid were written in the '50s, so well before Chet and Iola's demise.

Thanks...you'd think I'd have cared enough to find out by now. It's not like it's heavy reading.

I'm breaking about an 18-year streak of not reading the Hardys myself by reading the one I'm in. I think I stopped at about age 11.

The perfect night for a Lache Do, is, IMHO, the night that results from when we decide on a date and I then put in a friendly call to the Lache ownership. Nyack Lache, Manhattan Lache, and Wet in Bloomfield are all options. I might also humbly suggest that said Lache night be preceded by golf.

Agreed. Something just isn't right about cartoons and adult items. I've seen the Jetsons and the Flintstones get turned into pr0n characters, and that's entirely another level of weird.

Have you watched "Party Heat" at all?

And, for reasons passing my understanding, a striking portion of them are not girls.

I don't doubt it. The Japanese and Korean markets around here all have Hello Kitty displays.

Meanwhile, NH had a Pokemon plane. I'm with icurhere2, I need another drink just thinking about this (and I haven't finished the current one yet).

I forgot about the toilet paper!!!! :D I know I still have the BPs in my office somewhere. I brought back a sugar packet, couple of wet wipes and a coaster for BL JR a couple of times. Oh, and the airsickness bag :D

There's still a Hello Kitty store at one of the gates in Taipei next to a Hello Kitty play area and a (well used) Hello Kitty photo spot.

I need to see a man about a horse.

... and people wonder why I have no desire to move back to SC. :o
