I just booked one for a quick out and back.....I wonder what US serves for lunch mid-con.
Thank for heads up RE: the QUPs from PBI. Dan |

According to my math for the routing: PBI-CLT-PHX-PDX-PHX-CLT-PBI (which may be off), would yield 7160 miles with the 300% bonus would bring the grand total to 28640 status miles.
Dan 7531 * 300% = 22,593 status miles + 25% Gold bonus = 28,241 destination miles. ETA: Oops, nevermind. I didn't catch that you were going out of PBI. |
This fare allows for all sorts of intriguing FM lines, such as DCA-PHX and LAS-FLL...

I made the mistake of looking at my first real boyfriend's photo of FB (it's fine that Plus1 reads this, said guy no longer is into girls so there is no threat). All I can say is Whiskey Foxtrot Tango was I thinking?:eek::eek:

That sounds very tempting, actually. Although not as good as UA F, US F is fine for a one-off BD mileage run at that earnings rate. It's a bit better if you end up on an aircraft with reconditioned F seats.
I think US Airways F meal and service are miles ahead of UA. Given the choice, I'd go with US Airways over US, unless you are in 752 row 2  UA still has that TPA fare. If you don't mind ONT-SFO in coach, it's still pretty good. |

I have not been on a US F flight with real meal service anytime recently, but I would be willing to do the PBI-PDX routing all on US.
Predeparture drink, UA serves only water or OJ () but US does a bev of your choice (Nothing new since CO does the same). If you ask for water (I always do), they give you a large bottle for you to keep. I like that a lot. For meals, I think US Airways' portions are bigger with better quality. Again, once you get past plastic, you will realize it's not too bad. Then, they have those snack basket with lots of goodies (biscoff and my favorite nut mix with cranberry) to fill you up during the flight where as UA has nothing  unless you are willing to pay for the snackboxes. US Airways FAs are generally better than UA. So yea. US is not bad except for the sh*tty seats they have on the 752 where row 1 can literally recline into your face . I can deal with the 734, despite the ooooolllld planes.

Interesting... PDX-PHL-MIA on the return doesn't really subtract very many miles at all, and yields better flight times...

The quality of the arguments in the WN forum seem to be inversely proportional to their fanboy factor. The brand has generated so much loyalty (good) that its partisans get their panties in a bunch when anyone mentions anything remotely related to a violation of status quo that could ultimately work for the better (bad).
