Nonsense. It's too crowded; no one posts there anymore. :D

I have tried finding something edible in the terminal. Where do you eat in EWR though? It's not like there's a Pappadeux like in IAH which produces reasonably tasty food. I usually end up booking a 3+ hour connection from BOS to catch international flights out of EWR which means food of some kind is definitely in order.

Ya know, I've never actually dined at EWR! My routine is cheese, crackers, and cocktails in the PClub. Preflight cocktail/bubbly upon boarding. Ambien at wheel's up...arrive refreshed! Minimal food in the stomach increases the effect of both the ambien and the alcohol. ^ ;)

Hey! Come play down this way - I'm sure The Box can come up with a neutral-distance NJ foursome somewhere.

There was some discussion about the Robert Trent Jones trail in Alabama when CO was running a few weekend specials EWR-BHM a few weeks back. ConciergeMike was keen on it, too.

When did I say I was able to find a good meal?

I'll usually eat some junk from Maui Tacos or one of the other disgusting options in the C3 pier. I've also found that a Double Hamburger Big Kids Meal or a hamburger Happy Meal is just enough to get me through a flight, plus those come with a toy. :D

I just need enough to coat my stomach and make sure that I don't wake up for the next 6 hours with hunger pangs. Then when I arrive I try to have a substantial meal to help reset my body clock.

How many of these 10 can you account for? I've got 4, but they are the easy ones.

Is it just me, or is Ambien the equivalent of prescription LSD? I took one the other night, as I've been having a bit of insomnia this week, then remembered that there were a few more flickr photos I wanted to tweak. About 40 mins after popping the pill, I couldn't focus on my laptop screen, as it was a bit too squiggly for my tastes.

Hrm, just one, but there are only 3, maybe 4, on the list that would appeal to me now.

Only 2 for me. Does that get me kicked out of The Box? :(

I'm keen on making the trip, absolutely. But I can't do it on the kind of notice that CO specials give. I'd be happy to do the legwork for any interested players. Only catch is that my schedule for the year is locked because of the new job, so it would be next spring at the earliest. :(

I'm also keen on having local outings should they be possible. I've been having Sundays off recently, but there's no guarantee of that trend continuing.

ETA Re: BHM fares...I was finding good fares diong PHL-IAH-BHM, and returning CLE. The EWR special isn't necessary for the RTJ Trail.

FYI - Passing out before noon is easily doable, if tailgating at an LSU Football Game.

I stick with melatonin on long flights - I don't need to pop an Ambien and wake up in jail because I tried to defecate on a drink cart or something.

No need to get specific on a team; as long as you're in the SEC, Big 12 or a southern team in the Big East/ACC you've got a pretty good opportunity. I prefer tailgating at Florida games, but that's just a personal thing. ;)

I've even managed to get close at an Ivy league game once, but that was a lot of work and I didn't have nearly the same level of support as one typically gets in the south.

^ Same here. I'm scared of what I might be capable of doing if I mix Ambien and alcohol - you just never know!

I'm leaning towards Lightroom at this point. Surprisingly, Aperture lacks that clean, easy to use interface that Apple is known for (IMO).

I use Aperture. Not the easiest program to start on. But after using it for a while, the workflow is super easy. And the current version is fast enough even on my 2.5-year old iMac 2GHz Core 1 Duo. Highlight and black recovery tools for RAW are unbelievable. Main weak point is noise reduction, IMO.

Seeing this post reminded me of this thread. Eventually the guy admits that the drugs may have clouded his judgment. Pretty entertaining.

I am always buckled in before I pop a pill, as a modicum of extra help in making sure I remain seated and don't do anything stupid.
