Southern Hemisphere ideas are intriguing, but isn't that winter in August? I'm a Southern boy by birth and I don't voluntarily do winter, especially when it's summer at home.

hmm, well if you want Hot, try India you can get to BLR in the south via TG, SQ, or LH

Go for CGK and DPS (it's the rainy season, though).

No trans-pac availability that I could find.

I just tried MRU and couldn't get to JNB to make the connection. I don't think I've ever seen a free SAA seat. Ever.

LOL - at least 120 degrees F with 95% humidity. I went there once for a week at the beginning of July - suffice it to say that it was unbearably hot and humid. We did not even go outside between 12:00 and 4:00 or 5:00 pm, when it would go down to about 110 degrees with the unbelievable humidity.

Edit - I just looked at the five-day forecast for Dubai - highs of 39-40 C with a "RealFeel" of 50 C. It goes down to 32 C at night (with a RealFeel of 42 C), though.

Oh my. I used to live in PHX and didn't mind it. But that 95% humidity might be a bit much.

Looks like alot of non-revs. The clue is to look at all the names and when you see the same name twice, once at the top of the list and then at the bottom, you know they're non-revs. They are asking for a cabin seat and/or a jumpseat. Alot of our crew lives in the DEN area.

Thanks for the helpful info. Havent seen such a long list but thinking it was non-rev as they didnt need volunters. Hope a lot of them get on as my flight is full and late and the 6 pm is full and late to IAH.

Looks like I might have something with FUE with a week in BCN as a "stopover..."

Yahtzee.

So burned miles on US back in April... or so I thought I did. I had a TA biz award ticket, and US never deducted the miles from my DM account. Should I book another TA biz award ticket on US? Will they even audit the account?

BLR never gets too hot thanks to the fact that it is at elevation. It is actually rather similar to SAN in terms of weather. That being said, it is quite far from a beach. GOI is nearby and is a beach town, and the weather doesn't actually look too bad there either. As an added bonus it is a former Portuguese colony (like Macau) so the foods are somewhat European in style rather that curries and other Indian flavors. We actually had a great time in Goa - much better than my days in Bangalore, though that was for different reasons.

There is a Marriott in GOI that is pretty pricey and plenty of other cheap options if you're willing to forgo a Western hotel chain.

Looks like we'll only be on the island for about 4 days. And a full 8 days in BCE. Not sure if we should go to Southern Spain (Andalucia region) or head North to France.

So here's an "OMG a CO question in the Box!" question...

Is there a way to upgrade a Y-UP ticket that had the upgrade declined upon purchase? For invoicing reasons we do not want the client seeing a F or AU on the receipt but I would definitely like to sit up front.

Can I just call and ask to be upgraded after the receipt is issued?

ConciergeMike Jun 24, 2008 6:48 am

A call to the Elite desk would certainly be preferable to having to explain the Y-up process to your client.
