And besides, didn't Larry show an interest in the CO equivalent?

I doubt UA will be forced to liquidate, provided US closes shop first. If US stays afloat, though, anything could happen.

Cancelled Flight or that many pass riders

I was reviewing my flight DEN-IAH (6/23/08) and looked at the flight before to see if it would be worth going to the airport for. Here is the standby list (42 and Counting - 1 hour to flight time)

http://pda.continental.com/PDA20/Fli...b651f&gInfo1=1

This list should roll over to my 4:50 departure. It may be bump city today but then again these could be displaced CLE and EWR passengers. Who knows, just seems like a lot of people.

Yes. Considering the basic laws of economics will cease to exist in this scenario.

US closing up shop should have happened years ago. They should have been allowed to fail.

Looks like alot of non-revs. The clue is to look at all the names and when you see the same name twice, once at the top of the list and then at the bottom, you know they're non-revs. They are asking for a cabin seat and/or a jumpseat. Alot of our crew lives in the DEN area.

Isn't that where the shyster built the other monorail in the Simpsons? :D

Jumpseats show up on the standby list? They're not valid seats for sale.

Why'd they drop SEA-ANC? Was the plane running that late that they needed to RON it in SEA and turn it back around in the morning rather than sending it up to Alaska and back?

It went tech last night. They couldn't fix the plane, so just cancelled the flight. As I was leaving the SEA PC around 12:30a.m. last night, the PC agent was still sorting out what to do with two unaccompanied minors who were scheduled to be on that SEA-ANC flight

As per a US Supervisor from about 30 min. ago - "Figure out a Plan B". Looks like my trip to MLE is toast. Damn TG. :(

Completely open to suggestions. Parameters are:
  • 260k US miles to blow (obviously need award availability in the pointy end).
  • Preferably in a location with a Hyatt as that's where I have most of my hotel points as of now (50k). Also have SPG and HHonors.
  • Must be warm and near an ocean.
  • Preferably in a location that doesn't hate Americans and where the USD isn't massively devalued (ha). Although, I could live with either if need-be.
  • Mid-August (16th +/-) to end of August (+/- 31st)

I thought about doing a road trip from Andalucia to the French Riviera but it gets a bit tricky with award flights. Plus it's super expensive to drive that thanks to $10/gallon gas over in the EU.

How about GIG?

Mauritius? Monaco?

Negative according to US. :(

Southern Hemisphere ideas are intriguing, but isn't that winter in August? I'm a Southern boy by birth and I don't voluntarily do winter, especially when it's summer at home.

Have you tried *A connecting to an MU flight?
