On AA from MIA-EWR yesterday, we flew through some of the worst lightning I have ever seen over the CLT area. We were getting tossed around for a good half hour, but it was a really cool sight outside the right side of the aircraft.

I'm in the SkyClub with a cup of coffee and a massive stack of Biscoff cookies. Can't get much better this morning... :D

I snatched a bunch from MIA. Enough to last maybe a week.

And then they did!

Eww!

I just watched that video on youtube. That’s disgusting. Who the heck would drink that after moping it up off the floor, the same people who use airplane lavatories in their socks or bare feet?

Every Hawaiian Island is different. Big Island = volcano
Lanai = pineapple plantation and two very private resorts
Kauai = dull, wet and their claim to fame is Hurricane Ike that struck in 1992
and part of the Thorn Birds was filmed there, along with other movies
Oahu = Waikiki, Diamond Head and the North Shore
Molokai = mules rides and the Leprosy Colony Homestead
Maui = Kapalua golf course and whale watching, Road to Hana

Now I know who I am going to hit up for Hawaii info when I go. ;)

Out of curiosity, do any boxers upload their itineraries to FlightConnect?

If I remember, I add mine.

I'm running late. Panic panic panic.

Did I mention panic?

And that i'll still likely be sitting in the gate area bored after nothing i'm planning/allowing for actually goes wrong? In the meantime, panic panic panic.

I think the honeymoon itinerary has finally reached completion!

JFK-ICN-BKK-ICN-NRT(KE)-SFO-MEM-EWR(NW)

I'm going to watch the SFO-EWR availability to see if anything shows up on one of the CO flights but will settle for the MEM connection.

Throw in the BKK-SIN-SYD-SIN-BKK(SQ)-HKT-BKK(TG) that I purchased separately and we're all set! ^

After ticketing, the agent that helped me make the changes this morning said "Wow, that's a lot of flying - I hope your fiancee likes planes!" :D

Congrats. Glad to hear that all worked out now.

Morning Box.

Lightning story: my mother and one of her outside sales people were flying home from somewhere on the West Coast. Pilot comes on and warns of lightning, and is kind enough to say that there's another line of storms further out that one side of the plane can watch. Outside sales woman, name deleted to protect the stupid, looks at my mother: "Nancy, why is the lightning only on one side of the plane?"

On a happier note, my wife also had an interview with a school district in the AUS area. They basically told her that she could have any of the four or five positions they have open. So she's pretty much guaranteed a job after we move. ^ to that.

Sorry to hear the bad news. I hope everything is ok.

and congrats/happy birthday for your wife.

In ATL, on board my first flight (three each way) to KOA. Combined with a horrible day yesterday (car is in Chattanooga after two complete breakdowns and one "repair", zero sleep, and needing to speak to 12 people to simply check in), it's going to be a long, rundown day.

I do have my alternative routing set if there's a VDB possibility on the next segment ...

The box passed the half-million view milestone too.

So i'm here in MCO dreadfully early because - as mentioned above - none of the problems I left time for actually occured.

And you know what? MCO is dreadful itself. It's an ugly, dirty, poorly laid out airport. TPA has nearly idenitcle trams to MCO but TPA's aren't worn, chipping paint, carpet ripping up, stained, scuffed, nor generally dirty at 6am. It's obvious they're renovating here at MCO too, but i fear it wont improve things much. The general upkeep of this airport is horrid.

I always assumed that TPA was the way it was to appeal to tourists by being a clean and well designed portal to the state. I assumed MCO was akin to TPA - now I know better. It's not just the age of things either, it's management. It's the little things that give it away, like how TPA has cleaning people who dress in crisp stark white outfits pushing stainless/chrome carts that are shiny and all the bins are masked with more bright white linen. Here at MCO the cleaning people wear drab blue and grey generic uniforms and push around a plastic shop trolly with a dirty yellow rubber trash sack hanging off of it that is covered in more marks and filth then one could imagine.

Do the people who run MCO never get to the other side of the state?

Do it. You can always cancel and get a refund after 24 hours. Oh wait, that's what ALCO said to me. ;)

Well, I did put the HNL trip on hold. ;)

I am. I'm at 90K+ EQMs this year. It would be strictly a MM run (I'm only at 518K). An extra 20K on that balance would be nice (and I suppose the 20K RDMs won't hurt either), but I am still not so sure I can really justify it.

*prints boarding passes* And I just rescheduled the itin to route via EWR and picked up 2k more EQM. Happy day, even if it is 2am, I've barely slept, and I need to leave for the airport (in Orlando..) in 2 hours.

Glad that you managed to get the SDC worked out. Based on the timing of this post I assume that the inventory opened up at 1:30am like we thought it would, right?

Morning Box. If the rain holds off today I shall finally get my driveway
