At which point you'd likely get comped to LH SEN (a status which lasts for 2 years).

Isn't that 300K flown per 2 years?
Keep in mind that LH offers 300% EQM/RDM Bonus on UA/US (and soon, probably CO) Domestic F fares. Assuming you find the right fare, you would only need 33,333 BIS in F in one year to hit 100K. Historically, I have seen good-deal Q-UPs that would allow this for approximately $2,200 a/i with four weekends over the year dedicated to earning the necessary miles. Averaged over the two-year period, that's $1,100/year for SEN on LH. |

I think in addition to AUS and Vancouver (which I need to get back to) I'm jonesing for a little SAN action. I love it down there. Pretty much anywhere other than NY. SAN, I had been away for so long the last few months that when I got there for the day last week I had to remind myself I need to go back more often.

I had a reclining exit-row aisle, but that is one seriously long flight. Just 01:15 less than LIM-EWR. I hope not to experience Transcon whY again anytime soon. F is much more civilized.

Heck, I still have about two weeks before I hit 28. I'm a spring chicken (with the liver of a 50-year-old). :D

Seriously, why can't CO schedule an SFO-IAH between 02:15pm and 12:35am? Something leaving around 04:00pm would still get into IAH by 10:00pm. |

You're likely thinking of HON. Once you are a SEN (*G), you only have to fly 100K within the two year period to requalify. All 100K must be flown within a single calendar year to qualify, though. So, you could fly 0mi. in year 1, then 100K in year 2, and requal that way.

I just booked my first MR. The S/O is even coming with me. We fly CLE-EWR-MXP on Thursday, returning Sunday.
Since we only have two nights in Milan, we are staying at the Westin Palace. I'm glad this came together booking on a Monday night for a Thursday departure using the 25% discount :) |

One is an overnight in San Diego. Any ideas for cheap hotels for a one night stay. Arriving SAN 10pm ish, leaving next day at 12:30pm ish.
Never been to SAN. Are there free shuttles to cheap hotels? Not got much time there, so no chance to party or see much, so just a clean place to lay my head would be good. Would welcome input from the experts!

Effectively, there are no cheap hotels in SAN that are worth staying at. There is a Sheraton across the street from SAN but it runs around $240 per night on weekends. There is a Marriott Courtyard just up the 5 in Old Town and one down the street from SAN in Liberty Station, clocking in at $109 and $169 respectively. I haven't stayed in either but while the Old Town location is somewhat older, the Liberty Station property is fairly new. Deals can be found in Mission Valley and further inland (near where I live) but you'll need to rent a car to access those as cab rides will be cost prohibitive.
There is a hotel called 500 West in downtown just on Broadway. Last I checked, the rooms were $69/night but it's a converted YMCA and the rooms don't have private bathrooms. As MackieMan said there are some hotels in Mission Valley, but they are all over the place as far as price and quality. The Courtyard in Old Town seems to be overpriced most of the time. There is a Hampton Inn in the Sports Arena area which is just north of the airport and I think they may even have a free shuttle. The stuff downtown is insanely expensive. There is a Courtyard in Liberty Center, just west of the airport, and the Sheraton and Hilton across the street are worth checking. |
